Zuo Han

Zuo Han is a gifted forensic-medicine student whose habit of distrusting easy answers makes him unusually resistant to constructed realities. He first treats Chen Ge’s House of Horrors as a problem to solve, then becomes Chen’s roommate inside the Cursed Hospital’s false Xin Hai. His deductions, counter-surveillance, and willingness to sacrifice his own body help expose the hospital’s manipulation and give Chen a route back to the truth.

Biography

The visitor who sees through horror

Zuo Han enters the newly opened Ghost Fetus scenario as Jiujiang Medical University’s top student and one of the House of Horrors’ most successful repeat challengers. He has broken university records in autopsy, forensic pathology, psychology, mathematics, and related courses, yet his first priority is survival rather than showing off. He warns the larger visitor group against splitting up, identifies the possibility of hidden actors and copied voices, and keeps He San and lecturer Wang Qinzhi close when professional haunted-house designers dismiss his caution as part of Chen Ge’s performance. (Chapters 1118–1120)

As the scenario changes around him, Zuo Han distinguishes staged rules from unexpected danger by observing the spread of black fog, the timing of disappearances, and the behavior of supposed actors. He uses arrogant visitors as scouts, protects the people he considers reliable, and reconstructs the rag doll’s life from incomplete rooms and objects. His conclusion is not merely that the doll became evil, but that abandonment and corrupt treatment prevented an immature personality from developing differently. Even while manipulating Qin Guang into carrying the protective head, Zuo Han reads the scenario’s moral structure more accurately than the designers around him. (Chapters 1121–1134)

Following the hospital’s trail

The aftermath brings Zuo Han closer to the truth he suspects. Doctor Wei recognizes his talent and advises him to speak for the dead, reinforcing Zuo Han’s decision to pursue forensic science rather than accept convenient official stories. When the Cursed Hospital begins targeting people connected to Chen, Zuo Han studies the ransom-like letters left for Wang Qinzhi and Chen’s kidnapped employees. He asks to keep one letter and notices that the attacks are structured, personal, and connected to the hospital rather than random disappearances. (Chapters 1134, 1150, 1157–1158)

Zuo Han’s curiosity and proximity to the case make him a target as well as an investigator. He approaches the threat without supernatural allies, relying on comparison, concealment, and his willingness to question institutions that other people treat as authoritative. By the time the hospital encloses him in its fabricated version of Xin Hai, it has categorized his suspicion as illness. That label does not neutralize him: his habit of checking his own conclusions, including his own memories, becomes the precise flaw in the hospital’s attempt to provide every patient with a seamless false past. Roommates in the false hospital

Zuo Han meets the memory-damaged Chen Ge as a new roommate and immediately treats the ward as confinement rather than care. He hides medication under his tongue, keeps his shoes on for escape, studies cameras and patrol routes, and explores the hospital at night. Contradictions in his memories make him suspect deliberate alteration, while the unusually large dose given to Chen suggests that the hospital fears what Chen might remember. Instead of demanding trust, Zuo Han tests Chen’s discretion and gradually shares maps, notes, and conclusions when the other patient proves capable of protecting their secret. (Chapters 1162–1165)

Their cooperation survives the hospital’s attempt to turn them against each other. Zuo Han applies pharmaceutical and medical knowledge to the white sedatives and the black-striped drug meant to provoke Chen, while Chen uses a controlled performance to make the staff believe he has attacked his roommate. The hospital had intended Zuo Han to become a living instrument in Chen’s “treatment,” but their staged chase exposes that design and buys him a chance to escape. Warned before the group treatment, Zuo Han leaves the ward before the hospital can fully erase or repurpose him, carrying his suspicion into the city outside. (Chapters 1166–1175, 1185)

The one-eyed resistance

Escape turns Zuo Han into a wanted man. Pursued by hospital workers and night doctors, he trades his left eye to Single Eye for aid, sands away his fingerprints, steals a white hospital phone, and returns to Chen covered in wounds. He warns that the apparently happy city punishes anyone who doubts it, gives Chen the address of Ping An Apartment, and identifies curse-related applications on the white phones used by hospital staff. His sacrifice is not a supernatural promotion; it is the physical cost of obtaining time, information, and allies while remaining human. (Chapters 1185–1188)

Zuo Han continues bargaining with his own survival when pursuit tightens, offering his heart to Single Eye and asking Chen to preserve his soul and finish the work if he dies. He leads Chen through hidden routes to the private academy, connects him with Ping An Apartment’s residents, and helps coordinate contact with Men Nan’s resistance. Even after meeting the city’s strongest hostile spirits, he keeps Chen out of unnecessary operations because he correctly identifies Chen as the key to everyone’s awakening. His methods are severe, but their purpose remains consistent: preserve enough truth and enough people to break the hospital’s constructed world. (Chapters 1189–1193)

Truth retained

After the hospital falls, Chen uses Living Doll to repair the injuries suffered by the surviving humans, including Zuo Han’s lost eye. He offers most survivors relief through edited memories, but allows Zuo Han and Zhang Jingjiu to decide for themselves because both chose the truth while facing death. Zuo Han keeps his memories. The choice confirms that his skepticism was never a desire to suffer for its own sake; he considers an honest, painful history more valuable than happiness produced through the removal of identity. Zuo Han asks to join the House of Horrors, and Chen accepts him as a part-time employee while encouraging him to continue forensic science full-time. His experiences with manipulated memories, silenced victims, and false treatment strengthen rather than replace his original vocation. By the final chapter he is again organizing Jiujiang Medical University students for a new scenario visit, his injuries still recovering but his competitiveness intact. The end joins his two roles: he can help the dead speak through forensic work and continue testing supernatural truths beside Chen. (Chapters 1210–1211)

Appearance and personality

Zuo Han is a handsome young man with a brooding, emotionally reserved manner. His expression is usually cold, and he often watches other people as if assessing an autopsy scene. During his resistance period he wears a tattered coat, carries multiple untreated wounds, covers the missing left eye with a long healing scar, and uses gloves after sanding away his fingerprints. His eye is restored after the final battle, though the ordeal leaves him recovering. (Chapters 1118–1134, 1185–1190, 1209–1211)

He is analytical, skeptical, severe, competitive, and courageous enough to test conclusions that frighten him. Zuo Han habitually models the worst plausible outcome and has little faith in unexamined kindness, which makes him seem paranoid or ruthless. That caution coexists with a firm professional ethic: he protects his lecturer, tries to save useful lives, respects verified findings, and accepts personal mutilation rather than let the hospital overwrite his identity. He can manipulate unreliable companions, but he does not confuse expediency with truth. (Chapters 1118–1134, 1162–1193)

Forensic and medical training

Zuo Han holds exceptional scores in autopsy, forensic pathology, forensic psychology, criminal psychology, medical physics, and related courses. He can interpret wounds, evaluate drugs through observed effects, understand basic emergency procedure, and distinguish a body’s physiological state from an ordinary presentation. His training does not make him a supernatural healer or fully qualified surgeon, but it gives him practical authority when a case concerns death, medication, or bodily harm. Deduction and scenario analysis

He constructs theories from timing, spatial layout, micro-expressions, missing people, and contradictions between testimony and observed behavior. In the House of Horrors he predicts stage changes and reverse-engineers the rag doll’s narrative; in the false hospital he notices altered memories, unusual dosages, surveillance patterns, and the connection between Chen and supposedly unrelated patients. His conclusions remain hypotheses that he tests and revises, not clairvoyance, and incomplete or deliberately removed clues can limit him. (Chapters 1118–1134, 1162–1175)

Counter-surveillance and resistance fieldcraft

Zuo Han hides pills, maps patrols, moves through windows and alleys, steals and inspects hospital phones, sands away fingerprints, and uses cutouts or supernatural bargains to evade pursuit. His agreement with Single Eye purchases external aid by sacrificing an eye and later staking his heart; it does not grant him an intrinsic Specter rank or repeatable personal power. His most durable ability is coordination: he identifies trustworthy nodes, gives Chen actionable routes, and preserves compartmentalization so one captured ally cannot expose the whole resistance.
