Doctor Wei, full name Wei Jiuqin, was a Western Jiujiang Medical University professor, founder of Jiujiang's Life Science Research Center, and teacher to generations of doctors. After dying of lung cancer at seventy-three, the man who donated his body to science persists as a spirit in the underground morgue.

Biography

From donated body to Haunted House doctor

Chen Ge encounters Doctor Wei's spirit inside the underground-morgue door, where the deceased professor continues trying to save people amid Doctor Gao's experiments. Wei persuades three other doctors who donated their bodies to leave the collapsing world with him, accepting Chen's invitation because the young man rescued them and refused to abandon other trapped victims. At the House of Horrors, the four become its medical unit, treating visitors, ghosts, and employees whose conditions ordinary hospitals could never understand. Wei's judgment and lack of personal ambition make him one of the few spirits Chen trusts to manage the attraction in his absence. (Chapters 443–480, 616, 708–709)

Doctor Wei later supervises the underground clinic, treats Big Ghost after a lingering spirit lodges in his ear, examines unstable spirits, and advises Chen about curse-related cases. His former academic life continues to matter: he refers Jiang Ming to his student Fang Zhiming and encounters his former pupil Wang Qinzhi inside the attraction. Rather than reveal himself and trap Wang in grief, Wei asks that the visitor's memory be softened, insisting that he taught everything he could while alive and that the living must look forward. Appearance and personality

Doctor Wei appears as an elderly man in a white lab coat. He is stern, scholarly, compassionate, and professionally fearless, retaining a teacher's instinct to lecture medical students even as a ghost. His gentler decisions—especially hiding his identity from Wang Qinzhi—show that his severity serves healing and education rather than pride. (Chapters 443–480, 708–709, 1134)

Skills and supernatural abilities

Doctor Wei possesses extensive medical, anatomical, research, and teaching expertise accumulated over a long career. As a spirit, he can examine both living patients and ghosts, identify fixation as the structure maintaining a spirit, manage supernatural medical staff, and physically affect visitors. He acknowledges that curing ghosts remains experimental and often works with specialists such as the red high heels when a curse exceeds ordinary medicine. (Chapters 443–480, 937–950, 989–990, 1134)
