Tyr Brzenk is the son of Oscar Brzenk and the leader of Team Lair. Raised beneath the reputation of the world's highest-ranked superhuman, he avoids publicity that might dishonour his father and instead directs Kaeul, Yong Taeha, and Ling Ling through dangerous field missions and the newborn-superhuman competition. Biography

Leading Team Lair

Tyr formally introduces himself to Yu Jitae as Team Lair's leader after Kaeul joins the group. He asks his exceptionally gifted teammates to prioritize safety, develop individual purposes, and think beyond short-term rankings; his own goal is to become a superhuman who eliminates threats before they emerge. Those principles reflect the pressure of being Oscar's only son, since Tyr avoids public competitions and media exposure because even a small failure could damage his father's honour. (Chapters 253–254, 268)

The team's missions test that caution. Against a powerful golem, Tyr interposes Aegis between the monster and the injured Ling Ling until his legs bend and the light shield begins to crack, then attacks the golem's joints to draw it away from the fallen Yong Taeha. When the team's unpublicized work is later exploited by Team White, Tyr analyzes the false-mission scheme and supports Yu Jitae's response, but also accepts the more limited resolution once Team White surrenders. Appearance and personality

Tyr is a young male cadet who closely resembles his father. He has a slightly gloomy face, a dispirited gaze, and a slow speaking style with an unusual rhythm. His subdued manner contrasts with the authority he exercises as team leader. (Chapters 253–254, 267–268)

He is cautious, strategic, and accustomed to public judgment. Tyr tries to settle his own anger before comforting his teammates, stresses long-term safety, and quickly identifies institutional manipulation. The same concern for Oscar's honour restricts his public activity, while battlefield danger can still break through his restraint and provoke furious language. (Chapters 254, 267–270)

Stronghold Declaration: Aegis

Tyr uses Stronghold Declaration (A): Aegis through a shield. The ability gathers golden light into a defensive barrier capable of taking several direct blows from a massive golem while sheltering Ling Ling. Each impact deforms the ground and injures Tyr, and repeated blows eventually crack the light shield, establishing that the defence can buy crucial time but has a finite tolerance. (Chapter 267)

Frontline combat and command

Tyr fights with a sword and shield while directing teammates under pressure. After Aegis is pushed toward failure, he climbs the golem and repeatedly stabs its joints to redirect its attention from Yong Taeha. The attempt tears his palms, breaks his sword, and drives fragments toward his eyes without stopping the enemy, showing courage and tactical purpose but also the limits of his direct damage against an overwhelmingly durable target. Relationships

  • Oscar Brzenk: Tyr is Oscar's only son and visibly resembles him. Pride in his father shapes Tyr's restraint: he avoids public competitions and publicity because success would be expected while failure could harm Oscar's name. (Chapters 104, 227, 253, 268)

Shield

Tyr's shield serves as the focus for Aegis, gathering golden light into a barrier between a golem and Ling Ling. The manifested defence cracks under repeated impacts, but it keeps the attack from immediately reaching his teammate. (Chapter 267)

After his shield arm is no longer enough to control the fight, Tyr uses a sword to climb the golem and stab its joints. The blade shatters under the strain, and its fragments strike toward his eyes, leaving him nearly blinded without stopping the monster. (Chapter 267)
