Biography

The Seat behind the Masquerade

Noah appeared at an Undetectables worship chamber as the Seat of Deepest Desire, one of four catastrophe-ranked Seats among the five catastrophe demons then known worldwide. His reputation rested on devastation across parts of Nigeria, Chad, and Cameroon during the East-Asian Great War, yet even senior demon Wei Yan knew little about him. Noah joined the Melissia Masquerade operation to protect Wei Yan's attempt to gain catastrophe power and rise as the organization's fifth Seat. (Chapters 72–75)

Using a false young face, Noah entered the dungeon with the fifth raid group and positioned himself near Wei Yan while the conspiracy moved toward the boss room. The plan collapsed when Wei Yan was killed beyond Noah's sensory notice. Noah did not mourn him personally; he judged the loss in terms of the Undetectables' weakened strength, abandoned his intended support of Ysayle Khalifa, and rushed to seize Melissia's Tears so he could escape the sealed dungeon with the surviving demons. (Chapters 75, 77–79)

BM intercepted Noah to buy time for the other hunters. Noah initially conserved the dream power that BM suspected required substantial energy, relying instead on speed, swordsmanship, and overwhelming demonic aura. As the delay continued, he began colouring the battlefield ash-gray and fought hard enough to maim several of BM's embedded chimeras before breaking through. He reached Melissia's chamber only to find the boss dead, the Tears already taken, and Yu Jitae waiting above him. (Chapters 77–80, 83)

The dream that refused death

Jitae's earlier encounters explain why Noah's confidence survived that trap. In a previous iteration, Noah continued speaking after losing every limb, reconstructed himself after a blast erased his body, and reversed the attack as though the scene had rewound. Jitae fought him for hundreds of days without securing a death and ultimately expelled him beyond Earth's dimension instead. That failure drove Jitae to prepare a form of killing intent specifically capable of overcoming Noah's attachment to life. (Chapter 74)

In the present confrontation, Noah inferred that Jitae possessed some means of foreknowledge, then ignited Dream Eater and synchronized with the Third Lord of the Abyss. He drew Jitae into an achromatic dream where Noah controlled distance, direction, identity, and the world's contents. He conjured creatures and remembered apocalypses to overwhelm him, but Jitae broke each imagined world. Maintaining them consumed Noah's imagination and rapidly aged his manifested body until he could no longer sustain the role of an invulnerable god. (Chapters 80–81)

When Jitae moved to finish him, Noah's abyssal patron, Ny-ar-la, intervened directly. The lord called Noah its child and attempted to preserve him as a means of observing Jitae, offering information in exchange for his life. Noah himself was already exhausted and unable to direct the negotiation. Jitae rejected the bargain, destroyed the lord's projection, and was then confined inside Noah's unconsciousness, where the deeper mechanism behind Noah's immortality was finally exposed. (Chapters 81–82)

Noah had absorbed 997 unconscious desires to live from people swallowed by his dreams, and those desires had become part of his own resistance to death. Jitae answered them with killing intent accumulated through 1,100 deaths and bisected Noah inside the dream, ending both Noah's central desire and the dream itself. His death cost the Undetectables an estimated fifth of their total power and helped drive the organization into hiding, while Dream Eater passed into Jitae's custody. Appearance and personality

Noah normally presents himself as an elegant, middle-aged gentleman in a clean tuxedo, with an old-fashioned bearing and a low, sonorous voice. During the Masquerade he used a false skin to appear as an average young man, then discarded that disguise when confronting BM. His eyes become increasingly red when angry or invoking power, and exhaustion within the dream turns his hair white and sparse while covering his face in wrinkles. (Chapters 72, 75, 77–81)

Descriptions of his age and nature do not fully align. His introduction says that his appearance concealed more than 470 years of life, while his own history later totals roughly 750 years in his original world and another fifty on Earth. He is classified as a catastrophe-ranked demon and an existence born outside Earth, but is also called the only human to have lived for eight centuries. His original biology, the point of his demonization, and whether his unmasked middle-aged form is his first body are not specified. (Chapters 72, 74, 80)

Noah is composed, formal, and strategically patient while events remain under his control. That courtesy rests on profound arrogance: he views mortals as lesser beings, treats his long experience as proof of near-omniscience, and grows openly furious when BM delays him or Jitae breaks his expectations. His strongest impulse is survival. He consumes others' dreams and desires to prolong himself, and even his apparent calm before death rests on confidence that his accumulated will to live makes death impossible. (Chapters 77–82)

Powers and abilities

Dream existence and dream consumption

Noah lives within a dream and feeds on the dreams of superhumans, converting them into power and extended life. He can also swallow victims into their own dreams; once their unconscious minds are captured, their real bodies can act according to his consciousness. During the Great War this influence produced mass hallucinations and caused local rankers in Cameroon to destroy their own country. The exact range, rate of consumption, and conditions for initially seizing a dream are not stated. (Chapters 74, 80)

The authority's central defensive rule is that killing Noah's apparent physical body is insufficient: his real existence must be killed inside his dream. Destruction, decapitation, burning, freezing, and stopped breathing all fail while his desire to live remains stronger than the attacker's desire to kill. This restoration resembles reversal of the body's state but is explicitly traced to Desire, not confirmed as time manipulation. In the decisive battle, 997 absorbed desires sustain him until Jitae's greater accumulated killing intent overwhelms them. (Chapters 74, 80, 82)

The achromatic world

Noah's full combat state is demonstrated when he ignites Dream Eater, synchronizes with Ny-ar-la, and extricates himself into an achromatic dream. There he can rewrite spatial directions, exchange the conceptual positions of self and world, obscure an opponent's sixth sense, and imagine creatures, landscapes, weapons, and catastrophes he has previously known. His recreated worlds behave as realities for those trapped within them, while Noah can shift position, merge with the environment, and attack through the world's contents. (Chapters 80–81)

This apparent omnipotence has firm limits. Imagination is the power supply, changing a dream takes time, and unfamiliar or imperfectly remembered backgrounds contain visible gaps. A target who can recover a self-centered frame of perception can resist Noah's directional changes, while sufficient destructive force can collapse his creations faster than he replaces them. Prolonged reconstruction exhausts his imagination, causes severe apparent aging, and forces him to reappear. His latest use ends in complete defeat, with no demonstrated recovery after the dream disperses. (Chapters 80–82)

Senses and physical combat

Noah possesses broad senses that travel through the ground, detect distant dangers, and distinguish the otherworldly nature of BM's chimeras. Remaining above the ground allowed Jitae to avoid that sensory path, and Noah failed to notice the attack on Wei Yan until it was complete. His perception is therefore extensive rather than infallible, despite his centuries of experience with thousands of blessings, authorities, skills, spells, stigmas, and curses. (Chapters 77, 79–80)

Without fully opening the dream, Noah crosses roughly one hundred metres in a single step, strikes hard enough to numb a demon baron's reinforced arms, and channels demonic aura through Dream Eater in attacks that scar the landscape for dozens of metres. He can parry BM's destructive beam, though doing so tears the skin from his hand and arm. These injuries and BM's successful delay show that his ordinary manifested state remains damageable and less absolute than his dream existence. (Chapter 78)

Command and abyssal contract

As a Seat, Noah commands other demons and can call them toward a shared destination. He receives multiple authorities from Ny-ar-la, the Third Lord of the Abyss, whose power enters the battlefield during synchronization. Ny-ar-la regards him as a difficult-to-replace investment and can project into his dream under exceptional circumstances, but the lord's intervention is neither automatic nor an assurance of survival: it had not appeared during earlier defeats and fails to prevent Noah's final death. (Chapters 72, 79–82)

Relationships

Yu Jitae

Yu Jitae is the enemy who turns Noah's immortality into a long-term personal problem. Noah defeats or outlasts him across earlier iterations, prompting Jitae to build a specialized reserve of killing intent over 1,100 deaths. In their final meeting, Noah recognizes that Jitae knows far too much and correctly suspects a future-oriented ability, but his confidence in his own history keeps him from accepting that Jitae has prepared specifically for the desire sustaining him. (Chapters 74, 80–82)

Wei Yan and the Undetectables

Noah acts as the senior protector of Wei Yan's Masquerade plan and is meant to help elevate him into a fifth Seat. Wei Yan reveres him, whereas Noah's response to Wei Yan's death is organizational rather than affectionate: he immediately recalculates how to save the surviving demons and preserve their strength. Noah's own death then removes roughly twenty percent of the Undetectables' power and contributes to their retreat from open action. (Chapters 72, 75, 79, 83, 258–259)

Ny-ar-la

Ny-ar-la is Noah's abyssal patron and the origin of the authority used in his synchronized dream state. The lord calls him its child, claims to have raised his power with difficulty, and tries to keep him alive so it can observe Jitae through him. This protectiveness is instrumental rather than tender, and Noah remains a contractor whose survival is useful to a remote power. The intervention ends when Jitae destroys the projection and rejects its bargain. (Chapters 80–82)

BM

BM serves as Noah's delaying opponent during the Masquerade. Noah initially dismisses him as a lesser mortal and tries to conserve his greater power, but BM's durability, provocation, and willingness to sacrifice his chimeras force Noah into a longer and costlier fight. Noah ultimately passes him, yet the delay gives Jitae time to secure Melissia's Tears and control the final confrontation. (Chapters 77–80, 83)

Items

• Dream Eater is Noah's Level 4 sword artifact and a national-level strategic weapon. He summons it through a dimensional fissure, channels demonic aura through it, and uses its Ignite and Synchronisation states while opening his achromatic dream. The weapon retains colour inside that realm and develops crimson eyes when unsealed. Ordinary superhumans struggle to use it and risk being swallowed by it. After Noah's death, Yu Jitae takes the sword; it is later used by Clone 1 and given to Yeorum. (Chapters 77–80, 204–205, 389–391)
• False skin or facial mask: Noah appears to alter his facial features with a false skin or similar disguise to infiltrate the Masquerade as a young man, then discards the mask before fighting BM. It is infiltration equipment rather than part of his dream authority. (Chapters 75, 77)
