Biography

From guide to chief aide

Kang Ahjin first approaches Season as a friendly representative of the 5th Command Room and becomes his guide through Association headquarters. She records his prediction of an Amazon dungeon, contacts the relevant authorities, and helps gather forces even when most commands refuse support. During the Second Night investigation, she trusts Season's warning and identifies evidence that an embassy explosion was not caused by a monster; Zhuge Haiyan verifies the conclusion, helping the Association avoid blame and earning Kang a special promotion from third-grade to first-grade agent. The promotion places Kang alongside Antonio Jefferson as one of Season's direct aides. Their competitive search for Quasar produces both clashes and practical cooperation, and she later handles communications, supports Christoph under Zhuge Haiyan, welcomes Bom's soothsayer persona, and obtains authorization for a delegation to the Tower of Mages. The Brzenk branch crisis

Sent to monitor a Brzenk mercenary branch and its Safe, Kang slowly befriends soldiers whose strict discipline had initially kept her at a distance. When Season arrives to open the armoury during the Association's conflict with Oscar Brzenk, she suspects the guards will resist and begs for time to persuade them. Her warning fails because they refuse to abandon their orders, but the effort delays the confrontation and shows her choosing to risk her superior's anger for people she has come to know. Appearance and personality

Kang Ahjin is a pretty Korean superhuman whose face, bright smile, and friendly manner are repeatedly compared to a puppy. She is energetic, positive, and quick to become close to others, using casual humour even around the Association's intimidating chief adviser. That warmth is not merely performative: she remembers individual soldiers' families and breaks down when she realizes their duty may lead to their deaths. (Chapters 200–201, 251, 289, 358–359)

She is ambitious and sometimes curries favour, particularly after an early success, but she remains obedient under confusing or frightening orders and can question authority when lives are immediately at risk. Complex technical explanations exceed her expertise, and her attempt to persuade the Brzenk soldiers becomes emotional, yet she continues acting instead of retreating. Kang demonstrates practical investigative judgment by challenging the apparent cause of the embassy explosion and presenting evidence that Zhuge Haiyan can verify. These skills make her effective as Season's aide, although she does not independently understand much of his advanced theory and initially relies on his authority and predictions. Superhuman conditioning

Kang is an Association field agent capable of using mana to sprint across the desert and reach a military base under a severe time limit. No named blessing or specialized combat technique is demonstrated.   • Yu Jitae: As Season, Yu Jitae becomes Kang's direct superior and the source of her most consequential assignments.
