Zhixiang

Zhixiang, also called Demoness Zhixiang, is a cultivator of the Demon Immortal Sect whose early alliance with Meng Hao grows into a lasting connection to the Mountain and Sea Realm.

Biography

Bridge Ruins and a borrowed body

Zhixiang first reaches Meng Hao through Zhao Youlan in the Realm of the Bridge Ruins. Seeking Immortal Divinity and clues to the ancient Demon Immortal Sect, she possesses Zhao Youlan's body and negotiates an alliance with him. Their cooperation is wary and transactional: Zhixiang knows the route and the sect's purpose, while Meng Hao possesses Demon Sealing advantages and repeatedly finds opportunities she cannot reach alone. She conceals what she can, bargains over rewards, and still honors enough of their agreements for the partnership to continue. (Chapters 454–474)

Ancient Demon Immortal Sect

Within the ancient sect's layered planes, Zhixiang pursues the Demon Immortal Body and Immortal Divinity while Meng Hao becomes entangled with Ke Jiusi and Ke Yunhai. She understands the sect's customs better than most outside participants, but her knowledge does not give her complete control of the ruins. The experience repeatedly forces her to choose between personal gain and preserving the lineage she hopes to inherit. By the end, Ke Jiusi recognizes her as Zhou Zhixiang of the younger Demon Immortal generation and gives her a jade-slip legacy, acknowledging that cultivators like her can carry the sect forward. (Chapters 561–629)

Zhixiang's view of Meng Hao changes as she watches him endure impossible pressure for the Demon Immortal Sect's fortune. His refusal to stop even while body and life force burn leaves an indelible impression on her. She later returns Zhao Youlan's body instead of keeping it, restores the woman at the great circle of Nascent Soul, and entrusts her to Meng Hao. These choices do not make Zhixiang selfless, but they show a code beneath her title of Demoness. (Chapters 627–630)

Reforged cultivation and the wider world

After acquiring the Demon Immortal Body, Zhixiang deliberately suppresses herself from the Immortal Realm back into the Spirit Realm so she can rebuild a stronger foundation. The decision costs immediate status for future potential. She later meets Meng Hao again at the Immortal Ancient Daoist Rite temple, recognizes him while the other Chosen do not, and repays her outstanding debt by giving him an extraordinary red medicinal pill during the pursuit. (Chapters 806–825)

She continues as a representative of the modern Demon Immortal Sect and responds when Meng Hao's Immortal Ascension creates a meridian carrying an ancient Demonic aura. Their lives separate after the era of the Ninth Mountain and Sea, but her memory remains important enough for Allheaven to use her likeness among the false familiar souls intended to break Meng Hao's certainty. (Chapters 981, 1199, 1509)

Survivor and sect leader

Zhixiang survives the Mountain and Sea war and the following millennia, a feat the narrative describes as nearly miraculous given her cultivation during the conflict. She becomes leader of the reestablished Demon Immortal Sect within the Mountain and Sea Butterfly. When the survivors launch their campaign against the remaining Heavens, she moves through the Outsiders like a specter and fights through the revenge war before reuniting with Meng Hao. (Chapters 1526, 1544, 1552–1554)

Age eventually overtakes her. Still beautiful in old age despite white hair and wrinkles, she witnesses Meng Hao's restoration of lost people and later enters reincarnation with the other Mountain and Sea survivors. In the remade cycle she is reborn as a mortal princess, beginning a new life beyond the wars that defined her first. (Chapters 1558–1559, 1588, 1591, 1611–1612)

Appearance and personality

Zhixiang is beautiful, confident, and incisive, with a composure that makes “Demoness” feel like a chosen reputation rather than an insult. In old age her hair turns white and her face wrinkles, yet the narration still calls her beautiful.

She is ambitious and skilled at withholding information, but she is not faithless. Debts trouble her until repaid, the continuation of the Demon Immortal Sect matters more than a single treasure, and she can recognize courage even in someone she once manipulated. Her feelings toward Meng Hao become a mixture of rivalry, gratitude, admiration, and buried romantic regret. She does not allow that regret to override his bond with Xu Qing or her duties as sect leader.

Abilities and cultivation

Demon Immortal Body

Zhixiang acquires a reconstructed body associated with the ancient Demon Immortal Sect. She considers its potential valuable enough to abandon her existing Immortal Realm progress and recultivate from the Spirit Realm, producing a stronger long-term foundation. (Chapters 629, 814)

Possession and soul projection

She can enter and control Zhao Youlan's body while maintaining her own consciousness. The host soul remains present and can struggle against her, so the technique is domination rather than erasure. Zhixiang later separates without destroying the host. (Chapters 461–474, 629)

Demon Immortal legacy

Her cultivation draws on ancient sect methods, Immortal Divinity, and the jade-slip inheritance given by Ke Jiusi. The surviving text establishes the lineage and its transformative goal but does not name every later technique. (Chapters 561–629)

Foundation suppression and rebuilding

Zhixiang deliberately pushes her cultivation down from Immortal to Spirit Realm to cultivate the new body correctly. This is a controlled reset, not loss from injury, and demonstrates unusual precision over realm foundations. (Chapter 814)

War and concealment

In the revenge campaign she moves like a specter among Outsiders, using speed, concealment, and mature Demon Immortal cultivation to kill through the enemy ranks. Her survival over millennia is evidence of adaptability as much as raw force. (Chapter 1552)
