Ke Jiusi

Ke Jiusi is the son of Fourth Peak Lord Ke Yunhai and the ancient identity assumed by Meng Hao in the Demon Immortal Sect's Second Plane.

Biography

The son behind Meng Hao's identity

Ke Jiusi is Ke Yunhai's last surviving son, remembered in the ancient Demon Immortal Sect as rash, arrogant, and repeatedly responsible for trouble. His father changes his name to Jiusi—"consider nine times"—in the hope that he will learn restraint. When the Second Plane reconstructs the ancient sect, Meng Hao is placed into Ke Jiusi's historical position and receives the father's discipline, instruction, and love intended for that son. (Chapters 567–575 and 981)

The borrowed identity does not erase the original person. Ke Jiusi's consciousness remains distinct and eventually superimposes with Meng Hao during Ke Yunhai's death. He apologizes for his former behavior and tells his father that he has finally grown more sensible. Ke Yunhai understands that Meng Hao is not simply Ke Jiusi, yet accepts both sons in the moment. This makes the Second Plane relationship a convergence of grief rather than a silent replacement of one identity by another. (Chapter 597)

Guardian of the surviving Sect

Ke Jiusi survives the destruction of the ancient Demon Immortal Sect through the Soul Divergence Incantation and a coffin Ke Yunhai prepared to help its undying-soul cultivation. He returns to life after the catastrophe and watches over the ruined sect alone for tens of thousands of years. His earlier recklessness is transformed by loss into long guardianship, fulfilling the maturity his father wanted only after that father is gone. (Chapter 597)

When Meng Hao reaches the later planes, Ke Jiusi and true spirit Night guide him through the surviving opportunities and warn him about the crushing pressure above the sect. He watches Meng Hao test the limit rather than stopping him by force, then recognizes that the pressure has helped consolidate a path to Spirit Severing. His guidance combines ancient knowledge with respect for Meng Hao's need to verify a Dao personally. (Chapters 610–629)

Southern Domain War and Dao Seeking

Ke Jiusi explains that Meng Hao must compress his cultivation into a Severing blade and either cut out his Domain or lose his life. He calls Meng Hao a younger brother because Ke Yunhai approved him, turning the temporary identity into a permanent family relationship. Before ending the encounter, he gives Zhixiang a jade slip whose placement in the Demon Immortal Sect's ancestral hall can stave off extermination for ten thousand years. (Chapter 629)

He then seals the ancient sect for centuries and sits on true spirit Night's fourth horn facing Ke Yunhai's tomb. The act preserves the remaining destiny rather than spending it continuously, while his solitary position shows the personal consequence of guardianship: he protects a lineage largely composed of ruins and memories. (Chapter 629)

The Wider Ninth Mountain and Sea

During Meng Hao's true-Immortal ascension, Ke Jiusi answers the Karmic destiny between them. The ancient sect's mountain manifests across time, and he calls Meng Hao his little brother before sending the Demon Immortal Dragon to contribute to the unprecedented Immortal meridians. The intervention is an inherited and relational response to Meng Hao's ascension, not proof that Ke Jiusi can grant the same dragon to any cultivator at will. (Chapters 981–982)

Nine Seas and the Windswept Realm

During Meng Hao's mental journey above the Mountain and Sea Realm, Ke Jiusi is seen alive in meditation within the Ancient Demon Immortal Sect. He later reappears before the final invasion, confirming that the guardian and sect have endured beyond the centuries for which he initially sealed them. (Chapters 1114 and 1204)

Meng Clan and the Mountain and Sea War

Ke Jiusi returns when the Ancient Demon Immortal Sect and the remaining Mountain and Sea forces commit themselves to the war. He participates in the resistance around Planet South Heaven and survives the Realm's destruction into the Mountain and Sea Butterfly. His long preservation of the sect thereby produces its intended consequence: an ancient lineage remains available when the modern Realm faces extinction. (Chapters 1380, 1386–1388, 1393, 1400 and 1404)

Vast Expanse and Transcendence

Centuries later Ke Jiusi has advanced to Eight-Essences and appears among the old friends answering Meng Hao's return. He joins the survivors' mobilization against the 33 Heavens, bringing the lineage he guarded into the campaign of restoration and vengeance. (Chapters 1544–1553)

In the final side story, Ke Jiusi appears reincarnated as Ke Yunhai's son in a peaceful mortal family. He grows old, has a son of his own, and shares his father's feeling that an absent younger brother may one day return. When the unseen Meng Hao visits, both father and son sense him and smile. The reincarnation gives Ke Jiusi the family life denied by the ancient catastrophe while preserving the bond created in the Second Plane. (Chapter 1614)

Appearance and personality

Ke Jiusi appears as a long-haired young man in white robes whose features differ completely from Meng Hao's, even when their figures and words superimpose. His youthful appearance carries an ancient quality earned through tens of thousands of years guarding the sect. (Chapter 597)

He was once rash, arrogant, domineering, and prone to causing catastrophes. Loss and responsibility make him patient enough to guard ruins for ages and wise enough to advise Meng Hao without controlling his choices. Regret over Ke Yunhai remains central, while calling Meng Hao his younger brother converts that regret into a surviving family bond. (Chapters 597, 629 and 981–982)

Abilities and cultivation

Soul Divergence and undying soul

Ke Yunhai prepares Ke Jiusi to cultivate the Soul Divergence Incantation with a special coffin. The method lets his soul survive great calamity and return after the sect's destruction. Its preservation is not effortless immortality: it requires the art, the prepared vessel, and a catastrophe from which almost everyone else is lost. (Chapter 597)

Ancient sect authority

As Ke Yunhai's son and later guardian, Ke Jiusi can open or seal the Demon Immortal Sect, direct access through true spirit Night, and preserve its remaining destiny. His authority is tied to the sect and its ancient structures rather than a universal command over unrelated factions. (Chapters 610–629)

Spirit Severing guidance

He understands how extreme pressure can consolidate Meng Hao's cultivation into an illusory blade and explains the life-or-death Severing that produces a Domain. He diagnoses and teaches the path; the actual Severing still depends on Meng Hao's cultivation and decision. (Chapters 628–629)

Protective jade legacy

Ke Jiusi creates or provides a jade slip that can stave off the modern Demon Immortal Sect's extermination for ten thousand years when enshrined and worshiped. The effect requires placement in the ancestral hall and sect observance, making it a prepared institutional safeguard rather than an instant personal shield. (Chapter 629)

Demon Immortal Dragon

Through the ancient sect's destiny he can send the dragon to support Meng Hao's true-Immortal ascension. The dragon contributes to meridian formation and expresses their Karmic brotherhood; the source does not show Ke Jiusi using it as a routine battlefield summon. (Chapters 981–982)

Later Eight-Essences cultivation

By Meng Hao's return, Ke Jiusi has reached Eight-Essences. This is a late progression after long survival and war, distinct from the ancient techniques through which he originally preserved his soul. (Chapter 1544)
