Tenth Wang Clan Patriarch

The Tenth Wang Clan Patriarch is an ancient Wang Clan expert who covets Meng Hao's Perfect Foundation as the key to his own Immortal Ascension.

Biography

Waiting beneath the Tenth Mountain

The Tenth Patriarch awakens beneath the Wang Clan's tenth Forbidden Mountain when Meng Hao's Perfect Foundation appears in the world. He immediately understands its value to his stalled path and orders the clan to prepare three thousand Rebirth Stones. His plan is not to study Meng Hao's method or cultivate a new Perfect Foundation himself; it is to use the Foundation Seizing Grand Magic to transplant the existing achievement into his own attempt at Immortal Ascension. (Chapter 137)

He waits for years because raw strength is not his only concern. At the Rebirth Cave he hides from the assembled cultivators and tries to establish Karma with Meng Hao, believing a prior connection will make the eventual theft safer or more justified within the laws he studies. He also restrains a Ji Clan Spirit Severing cultivator and questions him about Ji Eleven, displaying power and concealment beyond the crowd around them. When the woman in the cave reveals true Immortal force, however, he responds with dread and does not challenge a power he recognizes as superior. (Chapters 308–313)

Seizing Perfection

The Patriarch eventually ambushes Meng Hao and successfully activates the Foundation Seizing Grand Magic. The technique tears away Meng Hao's Perfect Dao foundation and incorporates it into the Patriarch's own ascent. The theft proves the spell can transfer a cultivation foundation, but not that stolen Perfection will harmonize cleanly with its new owner. Meng Hao damages his soul during the struggle, and the resulting Immortal Ascension remains incomplete, leaving him a half-Immortal rather than granting the stable perfection he expected. His response is to deepen the atrocity. Seeking enough compatible bloodline power to stabilize himself, he massacres members of the Wang Clan and consumes their bloodline. The same descendants whose resources sustained his long preparation become fuel. Damage, guilt, and incomplete ascension erode his sanity until he wanders as a mad ancient cultivator carrying both immense power and the consequences of the method used to obtain it. Meng Hao later attacks the Patriarch through Karma, preventing him from distancing himself from the clan deaths as mere cultivation resources. The hex forces the connections and guilt to remain present. Wang Tengfei then offers his own soul willingly, and the Patriarch consumes it while weeping. That final act is both further predation and a collapse of the family line he claimed to elevate: the younger descendant chooses absorption, while the Patriarch can no longer pretend the cost is anonymous. The Wider Ninth Mountain and Sea

After swallowing Wang Tengfei's soul, the Tenth Patriarch assumes his youthful appearance. The transformation gives the ancient survivor a descendant's face but does not restore Wang Tengfei as an independent person. He remains present around later developments connected to the Ancient Road and Ruins of Immortality, carrying forward an identity formed from seized foundation, clan blood, and consumed soul. Appearance and personality

He first appears as an ancient white-robed old man concealed beneath the Wang Clan's forbidden mountain. After consuming Wang Tengfei, he takes on the young man's appearance, making his outward age the opposite of the consciousness and crimes inside it. His half-Immortal condition also carries instability rather than the serene transformation expected from successful ascension. (Chapter 137), (Chapters 674–683 and 762–763)

The Patriarch is patient, calculating, predatory, and deeply self-justifying. He studies Karma before stealing Meng Hao's foundation and fears genuine Immortal power when direct resistance would be suicidal. Once his plan fails to produce stable ascension, calculation gives way to bloodline slaughter and madness. His tears while consuming Wang Tengfei show that some family attachment remains, but remorse does not stop the act. (Chapters 308–313, 630–683 and 762–763)

Abilities and cultivation

Ancient cultivation and concealment

Before ascension he can hide among high-level cultivators and secretly restrain a Ji Clan Spirit Severing expert. Concealment lets him observe and manipulate without exposing himself, but the Rebirth Cave's true Immortal power still frightens him into caution. (Chapters 308–313)

Foundation Seizing Grand Magic

The technique extracts another cultivator's foundation and grafts it into the user. It succeeds in taking Meng Hao's Perfect Dao foundation, yet compatibility, soul condition, and ascension still matter; possession of the stolen foundation does not produce a complete Immortal. (Chapters 630–647)

Rebirth Stone preparation

Three thousand Rebirth Stones support his planned seizure and ascension. Their long preparation shows that the grand magic is resource-intensive and premeditated, not a technique he can use casually on any target at any time. (Chapter 137)

Half-Immortal power

The failed or damaged ascension raises him beyond his former condition while leaving him unstable. He can survive tremendous conflict and threaten later cultivators, but he lacks the wholeness of a true Immortal and becomes increasingly mad. (Chapters 644–683)

Bloodline consumption

He can absorb compatible Wang Clan blood and souls to reinforce himself, ultimately taking Wang Tengfei's soul and appearance. The method destroys the descendants used as fuel and exposes him to the Karmic consequences Meng Hao later amplifies. (Chapters 674–683 and 762–763)

Karmic understanding and vulnerability

He tries to sow Karma before stealing Perfection, showing knowledge of causal connections. Meng Hao's hex turns the same principle against him, binding him to guilt and demonstrating that awareness does not grant immunity from a stronger Karmic technique. (Chapters 308–313 and 762–763)
