Ji Clan Spirit Severing Cultivator

The Ji Clan Spirit Severing Cultivator is the unnamed orange-robed senior who commands the clan's response to Ji Hongdong's death near the Rebirth Cave. He is not Ji Eleven, but a later clan member who recognizes that ancient name.

Biography

Ji Hongdong's final message

The cultivator emerges from the Rebirth Cave basin after the Ji Clan elders receive Ji Hongdong's death transmission. He has remained in a region that other Spirit Severing patriarchs refuse to enter, making him the most powerful Ji Clan expert present. Holding the powder of a shattered jade slip, he confirms that Ji Hongdong named Fang Mu—Meng Hao—as his killer. He then oversees the clan response while the Violet Fate Sect formally cuts ties with its fugitive disciple. (Chapters 307–308)

When the local search closes around Meng Hao, the senior prepares to intervene personally. The basin suppresses even his cultivation to the Nascent Soul level, but he still advances until an unseen cough makes him stop. The Tenth Wang Clan Patriarch addresses him without revealing himself and asks after Ji Eleven, one of the Ji Clan's most ancient Divine Patriarchs. Recognition of that secret name convinces the middle-aged man that the speaker is a dangerous elder, and he obeys an instruction to sit in meditation for an incense stick rather than risk a fight. (Chapter 310)

Checked by older powers

The imposed delay prevents him from joining the pursuit at its decisive moment. When the Wang Patriarch later reacts to the Rebirth Cave, the Ji senior can only watch the greater powers surrounding him. A sigh from the cave injures cultivators throughout the region; he coughs blood and responds with extreme astonishment as the Immortal woman repays her karma to Meng Hao and sends him away. The Ji Clan's local authority therefore fails not because the senior abandons his duty, but because both the hidden Wang Patriarch and the cave's Immortal presence surpass what he can safely oppose. (Chapters 312–313)

Appearance and personality

He is a tall, middle-aged man in a long orange robe. His arrival releases freezing Spirit Severing qi and commands immediate attention from the surrounding sects. He is cold and authoritative toward ordinary powers, yet not blindly arrogant: he recognizes danger from an unseen voice, invokes his Ji Clan identity as a warning, and chooses compliance when the speaker demonstrates knowledge of Ji Eleven.

Abilities and cultivation

The senior is a Spirit Severing expert whose demonstrated power is constrained by the Rebirth Cave region and by older cultivators.

Spirit Severing pressure

His aura carries the fearsome might of Spirit Severing, placing him above the Ji elders and most sect representatives near the cave. That cultivation supports his authority and lets him enter the basin after other patriarchs withdraw. Inside the region, however, suppression reduces the accessible power to the Nascent Soul stage and limits how long he can resist the environment. (Chapters 307 and 310)

Perception and clan signaling

He receives and verifies Ji Hongdong's final transmission through clan jade slips and can detect enough danger in the Wang Patriarch's cough to halt immediately. He cannot see the elder standing directly in front of him, showing that his divine perception is completely outclassed by that concealment. (Chapters 307 and 310)

Endurance against Immortal pressure

The Rebirth Cave woman's sigh makes him cough blood along with the region's other experts, but he remains conscious. This demonstrates survival of a remote pressure wave, not parity with an Immortal; his shock and inability to obstruct Meng Hao make the power gap explicit. (Chapter 313)
