Lin Hailong

Lin Hailong is the East Pill Division’s most senior Violet Furnace Lord and one of its chief administrators. One Chapter 240 instance renders his name as Li Hailong; the surrounding text identifies the same person.

Senior Violet Furnace Lord

Lin Hailong is the East Pill Division's most senior Violet Furnace Lord and one of the administrators responsible for defending its alchemical standing. When Grandmaster Eternal Mountain arrives with a strange wager based on Fatty's teeth, Lin receives him, accepts the challenge, and oversees the division's attempts. Repeated failures turn an eccentric test into a threat to East Pill reputation. (Chapters 237–239)

Lin gives Fang Mu a fire crystal so the low-ranked alchemist can make an attempt, then judges the result rather than protecting hierarchy. Fang Mu succeeds where senior candidates failed and obtains an ancient Entrancement Pill through the wager. Lin accepts the pill on the division's behalf and promotes Fang Mu directly to Furnace Lord. The decision demonstrates the useful side of his traditionalism: because results preserve East Pill dignity, he is willing to grant rank that would normally require a longer path. (Chapters 239–240)

Violet Furnace promotion trial

At Eastern Emergence Mountain, Lin announces the Violet Furnace Lord trial and explains that each candidate receives only one opportunity in a process with an extraordinary historical failure rate. He monitors the stages as an administrator rather than a competitor, following Ye Feimu, Chu Yuyan, and Fang Mu while guarding the meaning of the title. He praises Chu Yuyan's original creation and hesitates when other elders want to declare Ye Feimu the winner before Fang Mu has returned. (Chapters 277–289)

That hesitation proves justified when Fang Mu overturns the apparent result and reveals himself as Grandmaster Pill Cauldron. Lin's reaction becomes unprecedented excitement because the discovery resolves a mystery central to the division and demonstrates an alchemical level beyond the expected favorite. When Pill Demon chooses to promote three novitiates, Lin questions the departure from tradition but accepts the Grandmaster's judgment. Rebirth Cave and Meng Hao's identity

Lin travels with the East Pill group to the Rebirth Cave, greeting Fang Mu among the senior alchemists. The expedition exposes the alchemists to a collapsing Immortal mental realm and political conflict beyond controlled sect tests. When a projection reveals that Fang Mu is Meng Hao, Lin rises in shock along with the other leaders. The disclosure forces him to reconcile the brilliant alchemist he promoted with a wanted identity known across the Southern Domain. (Chapters 294–307)

Southern Domain War and Dao Seeking

Lin later arrives at the Ancient Dao Lakes with the Southern Domain sects and reunites with old East Pill companions. He watches Meng Hao appear as the feared Blood Prince and must place that overwhelming cultivator beside the young Furnace Lord whose first promotion he authorized. During conversations beside the lake he responds according to sect loyalty rather than romantic speculation and remains part of the senior Violet Fate community around Chu Yuyan and the other alchemists. When Meng Hao returns to the Violet Fate Sect, Lin greets him among the Violet Furnace Lords. His last supplied appearance preserves institutional continuity: ranks and rivalries have changed, but Lin remains one of the elders through whom Meng Hao's Fang Mu life reconnects with the East Pill Division. Appearance and personality

Lin is older and higher-ranking than An Zaihai, carrying the senior bearing of a Nascent Soul cultivator and long-established Violet Furnace Lord. One chapter renders his name as Li Hailong, but the position, surrounding speakers, and actions identify the same elder rather than a second administrator. (Chapters 237–240)

He is stern, traditional, protective of East Pill dignity, and cautious about changing precedent. Those qualities do not make him incapable of recognition: he gives Fang Mu the means to attempt Eternal Mountain's wager, promotes him after success, refuses to declare a trial over prematurely, and accepts Pill Demon's final decision after voicing concern. Lin possesses the longevity and spiritual power of a Nascent Soul cultivator. His story emphasizes administration and alchemy rather than named battle techniques, so realm alone should not be expanded into unsupported combat feats. (Chapters 237–307)

As the most senior Violet Furnace Lord, he stands below Grandmaster Pill Demon but above ordinary Furnace Lords in knowledge, judgment, and status. He can evaluate unusual pills and original paths without being credited as their creator. (Chapters 237–293)

Lin announces rules, explains the one-chance structure, monitors candidates, and helps certify outcomes. His authority preserves procedural fairness; it does not let him predetermine which alchemical path will succeed. (Chapters 277–293)

Promotion authority

After Fang Mu wins the Eternal Mountain wager, Lin can accept the Entrancement Pill and authorize direct promotion to Furnace Lord. The exceptional result supplies the justification, indicating that this power is institutional rather than arbitrary. (Chapters 237–240)
