Black Sieve Sect Dao Protector

The Black Sieve Sect Dao Protector is an unnamed senior cultivator who recruits Xu Qing during the Reliance Sect's dissolution and later directs Black Sieve Sect operations involving the Blessed Land, Meat Jelly, and the returned souls.

Biography

Recruitment at the Reliance Sect

The Dao Protector arrives with Southern Domain experts while the Reliance Sect is being sealed and divided. She selects Xu Qing for the Black Sieve Sect and draws her onto a Feng Shui compass, treating recruitment as an institutional claim rather than a personal invitation. When Patriarch Reliance manifests, his power wounds her and destroys her control of the compass. She nevertheless escapes carrying the unconscious Xu Qing, completing the recruitment despite the collapse around her. (Chapters 41–43)

Blessed Land and Ultimate Vexation

Years later, Meng Hao recognizes her when she joins Patriarch Violet Sieve at the ancient Blessed Land. She helps force open the stone gate, compels contracted rogue cultivators to enter, and reveals that her own previous attempt inside lasted only thirty breaths. Her concern is strategic: if the sect opens the site publicly or cannot control the expedition, rival powers will demand a share. When Ultimate Vexation appears at the Hundred Spirits Tower, she teleports to the capture point, surrounds it with multicolored magic, and pursues the chained spirit. The operation fails when the spirit recognizes Meng Hao as master, protects him, and escapes with him. (Chapters 146–167)

Pursuit and sect governance

After Meng Hao escapes the Song Clan with the Sublime Spirit Scripture, the Dao Protector and Patriarch Violet Sieve consult records beneath the Tri-Black Incense Burner. She calculates the activation timing of his good luck charm and helps design a pursuit in which Zhou Jie delays him until senior experts arrive. The plan again treats junior cultivators as pieces in a larger operation and assumes institutional resources can overcome Meng Hao once his escape treasure is unavailable. (Chapter 200)

She later sits beside Patriarch Violet Sieve during the Black Sieve Sect's alchemy gathering, observing Fang Mu's victories over the World Pill Division and reacting to the apparent Primordial Heavenly Replenishing Pill. When Meng Hao restores the first disciple possessed by an ancient discarnate soul, she waits below Black Welcoming Peak with the other Nascent Soul leaders and bows to the recovered Minor Patriarch. The gesture exposes the real hierarchy: visible leaders administer the contemporary sect, but the returned ancestors outrank them. (Chapters 249–258)

Appearance and personality

She is a beautiful, mature middle-aged woman in resplendent clothing, with a controlled and authoritative manner. She is practical, secretive, and strongly identified with sect interests. Recruits and junior disciples are resources to be moved, contracted, or exposed to danger when an operation requires it. Her willingness to bow to a possessing ancestor also shows institutional discipline: personal power does not override the Black Sieve Sect's ancient hierarchy.

Abilities and cultivation

Nascent Soul cultivation

By the Blessed Land expedition she operates alongside Patriarch Violet Sieve as a Nascent Soul expert. She can contribute to breaking an ancient stone gate, exert pressure that prevents contracted cultivators from refusing entry, and traverse the battlefield quickly enough to join the Hundred Spirits Tower containment. These feats establish senior power, but not dominance over the Blessed Land: her earlier thirty-breath limit and the failed capture show that the site's laws and entities can exceed her control. (Chapters 146–167)

Multicolored containment magic

During the attempt to seize Ultimate Vexation, star-like multicolored light spreads from her magic to surround and constrain the spirit. The technique works as part of a prepared sect formation rather than an isolated attack. It loses effectiveness once Ultimate Vexation forms a master bond with Meng Hao and redirects its protection around him, demonstrating that spiritual authority can override an external containment plan. (Chapters 165–167)

Travel, planning, and records

Her Feng Shui compass provides sect-scale flight and can carry recruits, though Patriarch Reliance's manifestation knocks it out of her control. She also uses historical records and timing calculations to infer the limit of Meng Hao's good luck charm. These noncombat capabilities are central to her role: she organizes access, transport, and pursuit so stronger formations or selected disciples can finish the operation. (Chapters 41–43 and 200)

Relationships

  • Xu Qing: Selects and transports Xu Qing into the Black Sieve Sect, beginning the institutional chain that later exposes her to possession by an ancient soul.
  • Patriarch Violet Sieve: Fellow senior leader and operational partner at the Blessed Land, in the pursuit of Meng Hao, and during the alchemy gathering.
  • Meng Hao: Encounters him at the Reliance Sect, fails to stop his escape with Ultimate Vexation, and later helps plan his capture for the Sublime Spirit Scripture.
  • Patriarch Reliance: Wounds her and forces her retreat during his manifestation.
  • Returned Black Sieve ancestors: She bows to the restored Minor Patriarch, accepting that the ancient discarnate hierarchy supersedes present-day leadership.

Items

  • Feng Shui compass: Large travel treasure used to carry Xu Qing away from the Reliance Sect; powerful external force can disrupt its operation.
  • Tri-Black Incense Burner records: The sect's old documentation supports her calculation of Meng Hao's escape charm and the planned timing of pursuit. (Chapters 41–43 and 200)
