Bai Wuchen
Bai Wuchen, styled Immortal Bai Wuchen, is one of Planet Vast Expanse's strongest cultivators. A peak 9-Essences Potentate who follows the Immortal path, she has traveled farther on the Vast Expanse School's Transcendence Path than any other known member.
Biography
Immortal Potentate and the remembered homeland
Bai Wuchen stands among Planet Vast Expanse's peak Nine-Essences Potentates and follows the Immortal cultivation path. She remains comparatively detached from ordinary school factions because her governing ambition is to Transcend and return to what she remembers as a homeland outside the Vast Expanse. That apparent origin and her record of traveling farther on the Vast Expanse School's Transcendence Path than any known member give her unusual authority even among peers. (Chapters 1468–1469)
Conflict over the copper mirror
Bai Wuchen enters the renewed necropolis expedition already carrying one shard of the copper mirror and knowing that another lies on the third land mass. When Meng Hao races toward the same goal, she spends blood and longevity to transform into mist and increase her speed. She attacks with a gigantic mist hand, then recruits the Sect Leader, Sha Jiudong, and Jin Yunshan by offering valuable information and rewards. Her planning shows both power and dependence: she can prepare counters and alliances, but does not believe she can safely stop Meng Hao alone. (Chapters 1468–1471)
She uses her own mirror shard by breathing life-force Essence into it, paying a visible cost in blood, and joins a three-Potentate attack that temporarily wounds Meng Hao. Meng Hao recognizes that she does not understand the shard's proper use. Jin Yunshan's refusal to fully support the ambush and Meng Hao's unusual control of the necropolis prevent her coalition from securing victory. Bai Wuchen's determination remains unbroken, but the expedition leaves her hovering near death and forces her to reassess a rival whose progress exceeds all precedent. (Chapters 1471–1483)
Meng Hao then advances farther on the Transcendence Path than Bai Wuchen's former record. Because that road crushes bodies and souls with escalating pressure, the feat is direct evidence rather than reputation. Her position changes from foremost explorer to someone who must decide whether pride is worth losing the only guide capable of reaching the ninth land mass. (Chapters 1484–1491)
Ninth land mass
Bai Wuchen later witnesses Meng Hao expose Han Bei's connection to Allheaven and complete the Ninth Hex. When he demands another expedition, she joins despite lingering bitterness because the sealed ninth land mass remains her best hope of Transcendence and return. In the necropolis she abandons her earlier unyielding posture, combines peak Nine-Essences power with the other Paragons to strike the sealed door, and thanks Meng Hao for creating the opportunity. Past factional conflict becomes secondary once they stand before the objective none could reach alone. (Chapters 1506–1528 and 1529–1531)
She attempts Transcendence with the other Potentates while Meng Hao confronts Allheaven. Her participation makes the limit of peak Nine-Essences explicit: even the strongest conventional cultivators require the opened land mass, collective preparation, and a Daosource-level confrontation they cannot themselves control. (Chapters 1531–1539)
After Meng Hao reaches the Daosource, Bai Wuchen submits to the new Transcendent and asks that he eventually send her outside the Vast Expanse. Meng Hao realizes that the memories defining her supposed external homeland were implanted by Allheaven. Her ambition was sincere, but the biography on which she built it was manufactured. The revelation turns her remoteness and obsessive return into consequences of manipulation rather than proof of actual off-world birth. (Chapter 1542)
Appearance and personality
Bai Wuchen appears as a woman with the remote bearing of an Immortal-path Potentate. Her techniques repeatedly blur or dissolve her into white, dark, or blood-colored mist, making shifting vapor the strongest visual signature of her combat presence. Severe use pales her face, draws blood, and can leave her near death despite her peak realm. (Chapters 1470–1483)
She is proud, meticulous, unyielding, and willing to spend longevity for the objective she believes will return her home. She can organize other Potentates and confront Meng Hao directly, but is pragmatic enough to abandon old hostility when he becomes the only path to the ninth land mass. Her later humility is not sudden affection; it is an accurate response to proven superiority and a reordering of priorities around Transcendence. (Chapters 1468–1491 and 1529–1542)
Abilities and cultivation
Peak Nine-Essences cultivation
Bai Wuchen is a Potentate at the summit below Transcendence and can join two peers in pressuring Meng Hao before his final advances. Numbers and coordination matter even at this level, while a later Daosource Meng Hao stands categorically beyond her. (Chapters 1471–1472 and 1542)
Immortal-path Essences
Her cultivation follows the Immortal direction rather than the God or Devil paths associated with other experts. It supplies her distinctive aura and battle foundation, but does not by itself complete Transcendence. (Chapters 1468–1469)
Mist transformation and attacks
She can turn blurry, dissolve into mist to evade danger, form a gigantic hand, mask the world's colors with fog, and burn blood or longevity to create faster blood mist. These arts combine mobility, concealment, and force; repeated use visibly injures and exhausts her. (Chapters 1470–1472)
Copper mirror shard
Bai Wuchen owns and can activate a shard by feeding it life-force Essence. The shard can affect necropolis dangers, but her method extracts blood and is explicitly judged incomplete by Meng Hao, limiting how efficiently she can use it. (Chapters 1471–1472)
Transcendence Path endurance
Before Meng Hao, she holds the deepest known record on the school's crushing path. The achievement proves exceptional body, soul, and will, yet the fact that she did not finish establishes the distance between record-setting Nine-Essences strength and actual Transcendence. (Chapters 1483–1491)
Collective seal-breaking
Her mists and full cultivation contribute to opening the ninth land mass. The door yields to combined Potentate power and Meng Hao's leadership, not to Bai Wuchen alone. (Chapters 1529–1531)
