Risa (Wrathbringer)

Risa is a Wrathbringer Demon who becomes Wolfe Noxus's head bodyguard and leader of his Demon Pentacle. She is distinct from Risa, the Academy witch, whose earlier school scenes belong to a separate person.

Biography

Head bodyguard and Demon Pentacle

Risa first approaches Wolfe at Queen Jasmine's palace in a borrowed maid outfit, openly trying to gain an advantage before the bodyguard selection. Her audacity earns a reprimand but not disqualification. After fierce competition among trained Wrath Demons, Jasmine presents Risa as leader of the three-person team with Millie and Chloe. The blood on Risa's sleeve and her pleased greeting make clear that she won a coveted lifelong combat post rather than receiving it as a favour. (Chapters 658 and 662)

When Wolfe proposes a power-sharing Pentacle, Risa asks what death or departure would do to the survivors before giving enthusiastic consent. She joins hands with Millie, Chloe, Carmine, and Nimue, creating the Demon Pentacle and a mental, magical bond around their patron. Risa begins on the high side of Rank Six and reaches its peak during the balancing surge, but even Queen Jasmine's added power cannot force the qualitative step into Saint or Overlord status. The new bond immediately changes how Risa protects Wolfe. She and the twins run to inspect him when his armour flares, track the people around his partners as secondary protection targets, and instinctively send him mana when he draws heavily in combat. Risa recognizes that this trained bodyguard response is narrower than the full Pentacle flow, showing that professional conditioning and magical linkage reinforce one another without becoming the same mechanism. Risa also becomes an elder-sister figure within the Pentacle. She carries Nimue when Wolfe needs advice, explains that high-rank Demon advancement depends on finding the right environmental and internal conditions, and keeps the younger members informed without speaking over their choices. Her humour makes the household bond informal, but she remains the person Wolfe calls when he needs a reliable answer about Demon bodies, danger, or guard procedure. (Chapters 690, 713–723, and 1035)

Modern warfare and Forest Grove security

Risa eagerly adapts her lifetime of martial training to modern ranged warfare. Because an ordinary rifle is too small for her, Wolfe builds her a heavy drum-fed grenade launcher, which she carries without difficulty. She later deploys with rifles and launchers, guards Wolfe's back during the interstellar invasion, listens closely to aerial radio reports, tracks enemy retreats, and helps decide when a routed force remains an organized threat. Her role evolves from palace champion into special-forces bodyguard without abandoning close protection. (Chapters 671–683 and 762–767)

In Forest Grove, protection includes administration as well as battle. Risa controls access to meetings, announces visitors, follows Wolfe's mental instructions, gathers assistants for formal agreements, and receives late construction and airfield reports while others sleep. Her size requires modified quarters, yet she settles in permanently and treats the city as an operational home. These routine scenes show why she becomes a household decision-maker: she filters information and keeps people moving before a crisis reaches Wolfe. Risa's blunt sociability also helps visitors cross cultural boundaries. She introduces newly crowned Petros to Forest Grove's weapons and Dwarven workshops, jokes through tense candidate interviews, and explains Demon customs to human students without softening the danger involved. Her friendship with Rail, the twins, and local craftspeople lets security work double as diplomacy, especially when formal human visitors are overwhelmed by the mixed-species city. Her limits remain visible despite that versatility. She can use Fire-aligned power, physical enhancement, cleaning magic, and the Pentacle link, but the corpus does not present her as an artificer or intricate ritual specialist. She relies on radios, aircraft, shared wards, and other experts for surveillance beyond her immediate senses. Even at peak Rank Six, the Pentacle's external mana cannot manufacture the understanding and bodily change required for her next rank. (Chapters 663–664, 730, 765–767, and 1055)

Overlord, castle security, and family

Risa finally breaks through to Rank Seven in the middle of a sparring match. The change is sudden enough that no one can move her outside Forest Grove, and because she is linked to the original Pentacles, her advancement pulls the other fourteen established members into their own Saint or Overlord transformations. Demon Overlord bodies physically remake themselves to handle greater mana flow, and Risa's personal achievement therefore becomes the trigger for a city-wide magical event rather than a private promotion. After the breakthrough, Risa speaks for the Demon Pentacle during the public celebration and resumes work instead of treating rank as retirement. She escorts Wolfe through formal events, oversees updates, and continues coordinating the twins and household. Her authority is practical rather than ceremonial: even within the family, Cassie, Ella, and Risa are identified as the people who decide which matters are important enough to reach Wolfe. Risa helps design Noxus Castle from a defender's perspective, insisting on isolated towers, firing apertures, strong wall blocks, species-appropriate quarters, and a mixed guard force whose Wrath Demon backbone is balanced by personnel suited to administration and public relations. She later takes charge of a legal investigation involving a Fae Guardian and supplies regular morning security briefings. These choices turn childhood fort-building and lifelong combat training into an institution capable of outlasting one household. (Chapters 1102–1106, 1138, and 1140)

The epilogue shows that Risa eventually marries a six-metre-tall Wrathbringer Overlord who serves as a guard officer. Their son Alexander is born six months after the wedding and grows into a powerful young sparring partner for Wolfe's children. The marriage is reported retrospectively rather than dramatized, but it extends Risa's chosen role in the Noxus household into a family line still closely connected to its next generation. Appearance and personality

Risa stands just under two and a half metres, slender by Wrathbringer standards but heavily muscled, with onyx-black wings and onyx skin. Golden markings are described as tattoos or body paint without a definitive answer. She is considered unusually short for her clan and sometimes spreads her wings to look larger, though she towers over humans. Her wardrobe ranges from a comic borrowed maid outfit to a dark-blue battle dress and, later, silver armour over black trousers and a blouse. (Chapters 658, 662, 679, 956, and 1124)

She is aggressive, flirtatious, physically confident, and persistent, yet not careless about consent or duty. Risa enjoys combat, powerful weapons, Dwarven ale, and blunt jokes, but asks serious questions before accepting the Pentacle and constantly checks Wolfe and his wider household for threats. Being a “miniature” Wrathbringer is a recurring source of self-aware humour rather than insecurity that limits her authority. (Chapters 658, 663, 679, 694, 956–957, and 991)

Wrathbringer combat

Risa possesses immense strength, flight through her black wings, combat enhancement, a Fire affinity, and lifelong training with armour and weapons. She handles a large grenade launcher with a thirty-round drum, later operates rifles and artillery-style weapons, and can shift between close protection and battlefield fire support. Her size and strength are advantages, but they require modified rooms, beds, and equipment. (Chapters 658, 679, 691, 730, and 762–767)

Bodyguard bond and Pentacle

Her guard training produces an instinctive mana-sharing response when Wolfe is threatened, while the Demon Pentacle adds power balancing, mental communication, and enduring emotional linkage with Carmine, Nimue, Millie, and Chloe. Risa can receive Wolfe's mental directions and coordinate without visible orders. The systems overlap but remain distinct, and even their combined external power cannot force her from Rank Six to Rank Seven before she achieves the qualitative change herself. Risa reads defensive architecture, battlefield movement, radio intelligence, visitor behaviour, and guard staffing. She designs fortifications, proposes security procedures, conducts investigations, and issues daily briefings. She can use utility magic such as cleaning spells, but no broad ritual, healing, or artificing repertoire is shown; for those needs she coordinates specialists and shared infrastructure rather than claiming expertise she does not possess.
