Nimue

Nimue is a young Wrath-Demon and Dryad hybrid whose two lineages initially compete so severely that neither can develop. Wolfe’s repair frees her from that artificial stagnation, while Queen Jasmine’s recognition gives her the family and status withheld by the caravan that raised her. Her later Pentacle growth turns a child once dismissed as incapable into a Saint-ranked princess whose awareness extends through the plants around her.

Biography

A divided lineage and a concealed childhood

Nimue is raised among caravan guards after her parents die, without a family name or a full explanation of her ancestry. Her inability to advance makes her seem defective by Demon standards, and the caravan eventually expels her rather than investigate why a visibly unusual child cannot grow. By the time Wolfe finds her, she has learned to expect abandonment and reacts to unfamiliar interest as a threat rather than an offer of safety. (Chapters 650–653)

Wolfe discovers that Nimue is not weak in the ordinary sense. Her Wrath-Demon and Dryad channels draw on incompatible patterns and starve one another, leaving her body undersized and her development blocked. He repairs and balances those pathways, producing several rapid breakthroughs that prove the caravan’s judgment was wrong. Forest Grove’s living gardens, dense mana, and earth-rich food suit Nimue’s Dryad side in ways the Demon cities did not. She settles into Wolfe’s expanded household with Carmine and the bodyguards, learning that affection and play can coexist with training and royal responsibility. During the Rank Four Witch event and Wolfe’s subsequent Saint breakthrough, she continues strengthening without receiving an invented Rank Six milestone; the important structural change is that her two natures finally stop fighting and begin working together. The original Pentacles later rise together when Risa reaches Overlord, and Nimue becomes a Saint-ranked half Dryad. At Noxus Castle she remains small and youthful, but her power is no longer child-sized: she can feel rain, leaf movement, warmth, touch, and passing shadows through nearby plants. Her late role combines princess, adviser, household member, and living link to the castle’s gardens, turning the nature once responsible for her stagnation into one of her most distinctive forms of authority. Appearance and personality

Nimue is small and only partly grown by Demon standards. She has luminous golden eyes, an autumn-red face rather than the deeper red typical of Wrath Demons, and flowing mottled-brown hair resembling maple bark. Hybrid mana system

Before treatment, Nimue’s Demon and Dryad pathways compete for mana and leave both sides underfed. Wolfe does not grant her an unrelated power; he reshapes the malformed connections so each lineage can receive what it needs. The result unlocks growth that was already latent, explaining why three early breakthroughs arrive in a compressed span and why the secure starting endpoint must be recorded as “by Chapter 656” rather than assigning invented chapters to every intermediate rank. Repair does not instantly remove every conflict. Nimue reaches Rank Five through the Pentacle but remains short of Rank Six through the middle arc, even while strengthening. Only after Wolfe’s Saint feedback in Chapter 731 do the two mana natures begin working in harmony as a persistent structural change. Dryad awareness and nature affinity

Nimue’s Dryad side responds strongly to Forest Grove’s gardens and high-mana food. At Saint rank she becomes connected to plants across hundreds of metres, receiving sensory information through them: rain, moving leaves, warmth, contact, and passing shadows can all register as extensions of her surroundings. The sense is environment-dependent. The corpus demonstrates it through nearby plant life, not as unlimited perception through stone, empty air, or across arbitrary distances.
