Laki
Laki is the undead dragon created from the defeated Lava King, a world enemy that ruled fire and lava in the Philippines. Hecate converts and names the body before it can revive uncontrollably, after which Daisy Ectradion employs Laki as an aerial mount, a siege-scale fire attacker, and one of her strongest large undead. (Chapters 224–231, 255–257, 307, 315–316, 318, 320, and 322)
Biography
The Lava King
The living Lava King is an enormous flame dragon whose army becomes stronger through combat. It commands extreme heat and lava, regenerates while immersed in its element, and produces fire capable of burning mana itself. Revival ultimately destroys it, and Agni annihilates its soul, but the abandoned body begins to revive without a stable will. Acting through Daisy, Hecate pours her power into an emergency conversion, turning the remains blackish red and naming the resulting undead Laki. The new creature is weaker than the original world enemy but still powerful enough that Shin doubts he could defeat it casually by himself. (Chapters 224–231)
Daisy's undead dragon
Under Daisy's command, Laki carries allies through the air and attacks large groups with flame, lava, its tail, and the force of its enormous body. Its undead state reduces its command of lava but makes its attribute more toxic and its body harder than before. Laki later displays retained intelligence while communicating with and advising Luna, who can gather and strengthen its flame. Their combined attack burns through the remaining demons in a major engagement, leaving Laki active among Daisy's forces. (Chapters 255–257, 307, 315–316, and 322)
Appearance and personality
Laki is an enormous blackish-red dragon whose body radiates the destructive character of fire and lava even after death. It can carry multiple allies, dominate an aerial battlefield, and use its long body and tail as weapons. Its pressure is diminished from the living Lava King's, but its scale and hardened undead body still make it one of Daisy's most imposing servants. (Chapters 224–231 and 255–257)
Unlike a mindless corpse, Laki retains intelligence and can communicate with Luna in the manner of an older, more experienced being. It follows Daisy's commands and accepts a supporting role in coordinated attacks, but the corpus gives little independent access to its preferences after resurrection. Its instruction of Luna demonstrates judgment without establishing that it is free from Daisy's necromantic control. (Chapters 255–257 and 316–322)
Powers and abilities
Fire, lava, and physical force
Laki flies, breathes massive streams of fire, manipulates lava, and attacks with its tail, body, and the shockwaves produced by its movement. Its undead flames are less masterful than the living Lava King's, but they are more toxic, while the altered body is exceptionally hard. It can melt frozen terrain, clear demon formations, and transport a fighting party while continuing to attack. (Chapters 224–231, 255–257, and 315–322)
Undead limits
The conversion does not preserve the full strength of the world enemy. Laki's lava control declines, coordinated enemies can still tax it, and it cannot overcome every world-level defense: Daisy judges that even several creatures of its caliber would be insufficient against the Demon Army Commander's large magic formation. Daisy also cannot keep Laki and Aikan deployed simultaneously, imposing a practical choice between her two largest undead. (Chapters 231, 257, 318, and 320)
Power progression
| Stage / Realm / Ability | Chapter(s) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Living Lava King; world enemy | 224–230 | Rules fire and lava at EX-rank scale until Revival defeats the guardian in Bulusan Volcano. |
| Hecate conversion and naming | 230–231 | Daisy's manifested master turns the corpse into the undead dragon Laki before uncontrolled revival can occur. |
Relationships
- Daisy Ectradion: Daisy is Laki's necromancer and commander. She directs its movement and attacks, uses it as transport and heavy support, and must choose between summoning it or Aikan. (Chapters 231, 255–257, 318, and 320)
- Luna: Laki communicates intelligently with Luna and advises her during battle. Luna later gathers and enhances its flame, allowing their combined breath attack to destroy enemies neither contribution is shown accomplishing in the same way alone. (Chapters 316 and 322)
- Kang Shin: Shin helps defeat the living Lava King and later fights from Laki's back as an ally. He recognizes that the resurrected dragon has lost pressure compared with its living form while remaining a threat of exceptional scale. (Chapters 224–231 and 255–257)
- Aikan: Aikan and Laki are Daisy's principal giant undead. Because she cannot deploy both at once, they serve as alternative strategic assets rather than a simultaneous pair. (Chapter 318)
Items
Laki carries no distinct equipment in the supplied corpus. Its offensive and defensive capabilities come from its transformed body, fire attribute, and Daisy's necromancy rather than a weapon or other personal artifact. (Chapters 231 and 255–257)
