Luna
Luna is a female flame dragon hatched from the Lava King's egg and raised by Kang Yua. Despite beginning as a small baby, she possesses an unusually large mana reserve, can strengthen other fire users, and develops the ability to turn stone into magma while supporting Revival's late battles. (Chapters 231, 249, and 313–341)
Biography
Hatching and the Final Campaign
Kang Shin chooses the Lava King's egg as his reward after the Grand Raid because Yua's Tamer class can raise its occupant more effectively than he can. When the egg hatches, Yua initially proposes another name, but accepts Shin's suggestion of Luna for the female baby dragon. Yua treats her as family as well as a combat companion, while Shin accepts the joking designation of “Daddy” and confirms that the tiny dragon already contains an extraordinary amount of mana. (Chapters 231 and 249; Chapter 313)
Luna joins Yua in Alaska and Greenland, where her value lies in changing the terms of larger allies' attacks rather than overpowering every enemy alone. She strengthens Laki's breath, turns a grizzly bear's stone defense into magma, protects the group on command, and helps amplify Laki again against the demons. Her own flames remain below EX rank, and even several times Laki's power would not have stopped the Demon Army's vast magic circle, so her support has real limits. By Chapter 341 she has grown enough that Yua can no longer carry her, but the corpus does not describe her adult size or later form. (Chapters 314–315, 319–322, and 341)
Appearance and personality
As a newly hatched dragon, Luna is small enough to be carried in Yua's arms. She has clear eyes, a single small but hard horn, wings, and a habit of giving fiery yawns. The corpus later establishes only that she has outgrown Yua's arms; it does not describe her mature coloration, exact dimensions, or humanoid form. (Chapters 249 and 313; Chapter 341)
Luna communicates through short, cute cries rather than human speech. She is affectionate enough to rub her face against Shin's hand after he pets her, curious enough to study Laki's attacks, and obedient to Yua's directions in battle. She also hunts and brings back a wolf for the group, while Yua has to redirect what she tries to eat, showing an active young predator still being raised rather than a fully disciplined adult dragon. (Chapters 313–316)
Powers and abilities
Luna is a mana-rich young flame dragon whose demonstrated specialty is supporting stronger allies through fire amplification while reshaping stone into magma. Her abilities grow during Yua's care, but the corpus ends before establishing the limits of her larger post-growth body or showing her fight independently of a handler. (Chapters 313–322 and 341)
Flame amplification and magma
Luna can increase the strength of existing flames. Her first clear demonstration noticeably intensifies Laki's breath, and she later flaps her wings to reinforce another large fire attack. This makes her particularly effective beside a stronger fire creature, but the corpus does not show that she can reproduce Laki's breath or its destructive scale on her own. Her amplification also remains insufficient against the Greenland magic circle even when combined with Laki's power. (Chapters 315, 320, and 322)
She can transform stone into magma, removing a grizzly bear's defensive formation and forcing it to absorb the resulting heat. Shin explicitly judges the flames as below EX rank, which allows his equipment to protect him when he dives into them. The demonstrated transformation is tactically powerful, but there is no evidence that Luna can melt arbitrary materials, control an entire volcanic region, or inherit the Lava King's absolute fire authority. (Chapter 315)
Mana and defensive support
Even as a baby, Luna holds an amount of mana that surprises Shin when he examines her. Yua consequently trusts Luna when joining battles too dangerous for the mantis army, and orders her to protect the group when a Demon Army duke approaches. The corpus does not isolate the precise form or durability of that protection, and Luna's actions remain mediated by Yua's commands, so her defensive ceiling and independent combat judgment are unknown. (Chapters 313 and 319–321)
Relationships
- Kang Yua: Yua hatches, names, raises, and commands Luna as her principal dragon companion. She relies on Luna's mana and fire support in battles where her mantis army cannot answer a single overwhelmingly powerful enemy. (Chapters 231, 249, and 313–341)
- Kang Shin: Shin chooses Luna's egg for Yua, supplies her final name, and is introduced to her as “Daddy.” He assesses her mana and abilities while coordinating the attacks she supports. (Chapters 231, 249, and 313–315)
- Laki: Laki is an undead form of the Lava King, whose raid reward produced Luna's egg. Luna watches him closely, listens while he communicates like an elder, and repeatedly strengthens his flames. (Chapters 231 and 315–316; Chapter 322)
- Daisy Ectradion: Daisy controls Laki and observes his exchanges with Luna beside Yua. Their partnership lets Daisy's undead dragon provide the main attack while Luna supplies amplification. (Chapters 315–316 and 320–322)
Items
Luna hatches from the Legend-grade Lava King's egg selected after the Grand Raid. The egg is her origin rather than retained equipment, and the supplied corpus does not assign her armor, a weapon, or another separately named personal item. (Chapters 231 and 249)
