Guardian Fortress

The Guardian Fortress, originally completed as the Bloodlight Guardian Fortress, is a mobile satellite stronghold built for the elves and wolfkin under Yu IlHan. It protects the Flying Fortress, transports armies, and later becomes part of Dragon’s Nest’s world-spanning defense.

History

A battlefield for two peoples

The elves and wolfkin first construct a concrete fortress designed around their own combat styles. Its layered walls can be rebuilt, spike traps and poison swamps impede attackers, jumping pads launch wolfkin into battle, and ballistae give the elves firing positions. Yu IlHan binds the installations into a single artifact with fourth- and fifth-class magic stones and Mana Crafting. The completed Demigod-ranked fortress has fifteen million durability. (Chapters 233–234)

The artifact is bound to the Flying Fortress and will retaliate uncontrollably if its parent fortress is destroyed. It becomes the main battlefield and home base for the allied elves and wolfkin while serving as a defensive escort. (Chapters 234 and 240–241)

Warship, transport, and refuge

Mystic learns to control both fortresses, allowing coordinated concealment, bombardment, deployment, and meteor-like strikes. The Guardian Fortress is less densely armed than its parent but better suited to transporting troops. Yu IlHan can also operate it independently. Its mobility carries armies between battlefields, supports rescue operations, and eventually evacuates the surviving population of an endangered world. (Chapters 237, 240–241, and 269–271)

Ericia commands its wolfkin contingent, while Mirey and the elven leaders coordinate their own forces aboard it. (Chapter 284)

Part of the aerial city

As Dragon’s Nest grows, the fortress cores are interlocked with Yu IlHan’s larger domain. Mystic remains their control tower, and the Guardian Fortress resonates with the holy region, the expanding aerial city, and the united world. It persists as a component of the faction’s layered defenses rather than as an isolated vehicle. (Chapters 305, 314, 325–326, and 347)
