Bargo

Bargo, formally introduced as Bargo Gunner, is the short, good-humored vice head who becomes leader of the Moon Shield Clan. Though he would often prefer comfort to conflict, his sharp assessment of martial ability, decision to oppose his own clan head, and support for Raze Cromwell's coalition make him an important Dark Faction defector.

Biography

Peacekeeper in the Lethal Bite crisis

Bargo arrives in Flendon as a Moon Shield vice head charged with keeping peace during the Lethal Bite Clan's succession dispute. He refuses to choose the clan's ruler for its ministers, preferring observation to interference, but his boredom leads him to the recruitment grounds. There he recognizes Anna's physical strength and Raze's concealed Qi control, overrules biased assessors, and joins their dangerous estate mission. His senses and defensive swordplay help preserve the group when the supposed rescue becomes an ambush. (Chapters 485–511)

The mission exposes sacrifices, Alter involvement, and corruption inside the Lethal Bite Clan. Bargo fights beside people who entered under false identities rather than clinging to faction prejudice, and survives the collapse of the succession scheme. He later carries firsthand knowledge of the summoning case and helps connect Raze's allies to the same pattern when Safa, Liam, and Charlotte investigate the Rylon religion. (Chapters 512–544 and 957–973)

Turning against Gavin

During the faction tournament's collapse, Bargo sides against Moon Shield head Gavin and aids Tilon. He attacks Gavin, identifies the disabling resonance of the clan head's round shield, and charges Tilon's reflective shield with his own Falling Meteor technique. Gavin punishes the betrayal and nearly buries Bargo in the stands, but Bargo returns after Tilon disarms him. His decision to reveal his clan's secret directly enables Gavin's defeat. (Chapters 682–718)

Gavin surrenders leadership, and Tilon passes Bargo the hereditary round shield. Bargo accepts despite being a distant relative who never expected to rule or trained in shield arts. At Gavin's request, he draws his sword; Gavin then moves onto the blade and dies after entrusting the next generation with stopping Murkel. Bargo's last extended appearances show him advising allied students, supporting Raze's Dark Faction order, and joining the coalition assembled against the Light Faction and Alter. He is alive in Chapter 1205, but the corpus does not state his fate after that battlefield gathering. (Chapters 718–805, 957–958, and 1205)

Appearance and personality

Bargo is a very short, pot-bellied man with a healthy full beard and a naturally red face. At his introduction, the round shield on his back is larger than his body and makes his climb resemble a slow-moving turtle. His visible cheer, ready smile, and preference for a place to rest contrast with the authority his rank carries. (Chapters 485 and 495)

He is observant, practical, and less rigid than many Dark Faction leaders. Bargo would rather avoid a clan-wide battle he cannot stop alone, but he protects recruits, recognizes skill without regard to name, and changes sides when loyalty to Gavin becomes indefensible. His humor persists under pressure, while his acceptance of leadership shows that apparent laziness does not prevent responsibility when circumstances place it in his hands. Magic, cultivation, and abilities

Middle-stage Qi and swordsmanship

Bargo is explicitly a middle-stage Pagna warrior. He reads the density and transmission of Raze's Qi from marks on a testing stone, matches an opponent's output, and uses scraping parries to draw a weapon forward before countering. His swordplay can protect nearby allies against multiple attackers, and his martial judgment lets him teach even while testing Raze. He is not presented as a top clan-head-level fighter: entire clans can overwhelm him, Gavin badly injures him, and no later cultivation advancement is established. (Chapters 495–511 and 716–720)

His named Falling Meteor is an upward sword slash into which he pours Qi, described as one of the Moon Shield Clan's strongest offensive and defensive techniques. He uses it to load energy into Tilon's reflective shield rather than directly damage Gavin. Even at his strongest demonstrated output, the legendary shield does not move, illustrating both the technique's force and the equipment-based limit of that comparison. (Chapter 717)

Assessment, senses, and command

Bargo detects followers before other members of the estate party, distinguishes physical force from finely condensed Qi, and identifies the hidden resonance that briefly freezes anyone struck by Gavin's shield. These are trained perception and experience rather than supernatural sight. After accepting clan leadership, he combines this expertise with practical local authority, guiding Raze's allies through Moon Shield and neighboring-clan politics. The corpus does not show whether he ever masters formal shield arts. (Chapters 497–506, 716–718, and 957–958)

Relationships

• Raze Cromwell: Bargo recognizes Raze's concealed talent during recruitment and gives him a demanding but educational assessment. He later turns to Raze's side, advises his companions, and joins the coalition supporting his rule.
• Tilon: Bargo betrays Gavin to help Tilon exploit the legendary shield. Tilon then gives him the Moon Shield head's round shield and recognizes him as the appropriate next clan leader.
• Gavin: Bargo begins as Gavin's vice head but reveals the clan head's artifact secret during their fight. After Gavin concedes, Bargo accepts leadership and fulfills Gavin's request for death, although Gavin delivers the final motion onto Bargo's blade himself.
• Anna: Bargo recognizes Anna's abnormal physical power without dismissing her no-name status and fights beside her during the Lethal Bite investigation.
• Himmy and Charlotte: Bargo joins their Flendon investigation and helps protect the party in the sacrificial estate, later serving as a source for the continuing summoning inquiry.

• Moon Shield head's round shield: Tilon takes Gavin's clan shield after defeating him and immediately transfers it to Bargo with the leadership. Bargo considers combining it with sword techniques, but the corpus does not show that training or provide a final custody scene after Chapter 1205.
