About the novel
Beyond the Timescape follows Xu Qing, a wary adolescent left alone after divine destruction reduces his city to poisoned ruins. He learns to survive by observing before acting, preparing poisons, and answering both kindness and harm without forgetting either. His search for missing family first leads through a scavenger camp and then into Seven Blood Eyes, where individual caution gradually becomes loyalty to companions, sect, and humankind.
The story expands across the Forbidden Sea, Sea-Sealing County, imperial politics, holy lands, and realms beyond Revered Ancient. Xu Qing and the shameless but ancient Captain repeatedly enter plans involving gods, inheritances, and buried histories. Xu Qing's increasing responsibility does not erase his original survival instincts; it redirects them toward protecting larger communities from powers that regard ordinary life as incidental.
World and cultivation
Revered Ancient bears the consequences of gods whose presence can mutate land, life, and spiritual power. Human settlements depend on sects, defenses, scavenging, and dangerous resources gathered from forbidden regions. Seven Blood Eyes combines commercial, military, and cultivation functions, while the Swordsage Palace and imperial institutions organize humanity's broader defense amid internal competition.
Cultivators develop spirit seas, life fires, heavenly palaces, nascent souls, and higher authorities, but contamination and anomalous inheritances complicate every orthodox path. Xu Qing combines conventional cultivation with poison, life lamps, physical resilience, and godly powers that must be controlled rather than merely accumulated. At the highest levels, immortal paths and divine authority become competing answers to the world's corruption and its ancient cycles.
