Li Mengtu

Li Mengtu is the sole Shining Star of the Fifth Star Ring’s western planetary system, a descendant who restores the declining Li Clan and becomes an apprentice of Poison Monarch. His first relationship with Xu Qing is a rivalry over a poison canon, but Xu Qing’s conduct at the end of their dao fight converts that rivalry into a life debt and eventually a durable military alliance. In the Aurora Immortal Palace trial, Li Mengtu inhabits the historical study partner Zhong Chi; Zhong Chi’s original life and memories remain the borrowed host role, not another name for Li Mengtu’s birth identity.

Biography

Fifth Star Ring and Immortal Trials

Li Mengtu rises from a declining clan whose patriarch came from another star ring. Through talent, persistent cultivation, and lethal competition, he restores the clan’s prominence, becomes the only western Shining Star, and gains Poison Monarch as his master. He enters the second round of the Trial of the Hunt expecting the dao-corroding flower to be a legacy prepared for him. His aim is not merely personal strength: he believes immortal ascension and entrance into the Immortal Capital will secure the Li Clan’s future. (Chapters 1120–1122)

Xu Qing’s unexpected participation turns the legacy into a dao fight. Li Mengtu uses 9,000 clan towers to strengthen his enlightenment and opens the Li Clan Reincarnation Scroll at the cost of longevity to seal his rival. Xu Qing escapes through space-time and reaches a level Li Mengtu cannot touch. Li Mengtu burns cultivation and life force rather than retreat, then accepts defeat, offers his half of the legacy, and states his final wishes without attempting a hidden attack. His pride makes the conflict deadly, but his adherence to the rules of a dao fight lets it end without deceit. (Chapters 1122–1134)

Xu Qing returns the completed twelve-petal canon instead of killing him. Li Mengtu’s life force recovers, and he tears out a portion of his life essence to place himself at Xu Qing’s disposal. The choice changes their relationship: Xu Qing has not simply spared a defeated enemy, but given away a canon that Li Mengtu considered the central ambition of his life. Li Mengtu thereafter treats the debt as both personal and dao-related, while retaining responsibility for settling the Li Clan’s feuds himself. (Chapters 1134–1136)

Inside the reflected history of the Aurora Immortal Palace, Li Mengtu is assigned the body and role of Zhong Chi, study partner to Young Lord Aurora. He receives the historical host’s memories and initially assumes that the young lord cannot be another outsider. He uses Zhong Chi’s position to remain near Xu Qing and attempts to deepen his poison canon through the reflected timeline. This is temporary host occupation: the original Zhong Chi belongs to the old history, while Li Mengtu is the trial participant acting through that person’s body and social relationships. The reflected life leaves consequences after the trial ends. Li Mengtu emerges uncertain where his own self ends and Zhong Chi’s accumulated memories begin, and his poison canon has changed. He nevertheless returns to his Fifth Star Ring identity, earns fifth place in the Trial of the Hunt, retains an Immortal Capital Permission Medallion, and ascends with the successful participants. Before their assignments separate them, he reiterates that Xu Qing may call on him at any time because the debt includes both his life and his dao. (Chapters 1184, 1191–1194)

Immortal Capital assigns Li Mengtu, Xu Qing, and the other ascendees to one Department of Acquisitions squadron under Poison Monarch. Li Mengtu responds quickly to Xu Qing’s orders, attacks beside the group, contributes his quota of acquired ringsource, and becomes one of Xu Qing’s dharma protectors during the latter’s Quasi-Immortal breakthrough. On the Fourth Star Ring front, his poison canon restrains gods and helps the group survive combined attacks. Shared danger turns his stated debt into repeated cooperative action rather than ceremonial loyalty. (Chapters 1205–1219, 1223–1247)

By the later Fourth Star Ring operations, Li Mengtu is a Quasi-Immortal whose canon can cover a universe in poisonous flowers and fog. He first helps Sir Star Ring contain the unidentified thief Chen Erniu, then recognizes Xu Qing and reports the situation with the familiarity of the former Zhong Chi role. When Xu Qing announces that he will leave, Li Mengtu immediately chooses to accompany him. The decision carries him away from the Fifth Star Ring system that once defined his ambitions and toward Xu Qing’s distant home. (Chapters 1247–1252, 1290–1291, 1307)

Return to Revered Ancient and the Final War

Li Mengtu returns as one of the eleven Grand Emperors traveling with Xu Qing. The group reaches Revered Ancient while an ancient immortal threatens the continent, and Li Mengtu joins the others in using canon to resist pressure that already exceeds the local powers. Their arrival supplies an organized force of Quasi-Immortals rather than isolated guests, and it publicly demonstrates how thoroughly his old rivalry has become allegiance to a comrade and leader from outside his native star ring. When Xu Qing finally emerges, Li Mengtu steps forward after Zhou Zhengli and offers a formal greeting to “Your Majesty.” The act is voluntary and public, witnessed by Revered Ancient’s cultivators and gods; it places him among the returned Grand Emperors who acknowledge Xu Qing’s authority during the crisis. Li Mengtu remains alive at his last direct appearance. The supplied chapters do not establish a later office or permanent settlement, so his status after the opening confrontation should not be inferred beyond that return. (Chapters 1313–1314)

Appearance and personality

Li Mengtu is a young man with long black hair who commonly wears black clothing. After receiving the complete dao-corroding legacy, twelve flower petals appear on his forehead, and his arrival can darken the surroundings. His appearance as Zhong Chi belongs to the borrowed historical host: the young study partner’s face and social identity are not evidence that Li Mengtu’s original body changed permanently. He is proud, competitive, disciplined, and unusually principled in formal dao fights. Threats to his clan or destined opportunities provoke killing intent and extreme measures, including sacrificed longevity, yet he accepts a clean defeat and offers an opponent the same final courtesies he once granted those he defeated. Gratitude is equally intense. After Xu Qing returns the canon, Li Mengtu repeatedly volunteers aid, guards his breakthrough, and leaves his home star ring to follow him. Poison canon

Li Mengtu’s defining canon is the twelve-petal dao-corroding flower inherited from Poison Monarch. The legacy combines millions of poisonous variations with a scrap of canon capable of affecting dao lineaments at a level beyond ordinary authority. Once completed, Li Mengtu can manifest a vast poisonous flower, spread millions of streams of fog, place the red flower on a divine opponent, and combine poison with an ally’s mountain canon. The technique provides suppression and corrosion rather than effortless victory over every god. (Chapters 1121–1134, 1236, 1247, 1290)

Authorities and combat methods

Before completing canon, Li Mengtu already commands several authorities and divine methods. His battle with Xu Qing displays a death curse, lightning, binding revelation, an immortal flood, Flowers in Mirrors, and a sealed god’s severed hand. These attacks can devastate targets on his own level, but none can reach Xu Qing while the latter occupies a superior space-time state. The defeat establishes a firm constraint: varied authority and life-force sacrifice do not substitute for the personhood conferred by canon. (Chapters 1122–1134)

Cultivation and cooperative battle

Li Mengtu begins as an Imperial Sovereign capable of ancestral awakening and grows through Trial of the Hunt legacies, ringsource, Immortal Capital training, and war. By the Fourth Star Ring campaign he fights as a Quasi-Immortal Grand Emperor. His strongest documented contributions are often cooperative: he seals regions, suppresses gods with poison, protects Xu Qing during a breakthrough, and combines canon with the linked attacks of the Acquisitioner squadron. Severe battles can still leave him bloodied and nearly spent. (Chapters 1120–1134, 1216–1219, 1236–1247, 1290–1314)

Historical host experience

The Aurora Immortal Palace trial allows Li Mengtu’s thoughts to operate through Zhong Chi while carrying the host’s memories, status, and relationships. Li Mengtu can use the reflected history to add temporal depth and karma to his poison canon, but the experience also destabilizes his sense of self after he exits. It is not ordinary physical disguise, reincarnation, or proof that the historical Zhong Chi was always Li Mengtu; it is a trial-specific occupation of a past reflection. (Chapters 1147–1161, 1184)
