Marquis West Sea

Marquis West Sea is an Archean Mountain Marquis, a member of the Yan Godfiend clan, and Yan Chitong's father. He first watches his young son enter Archean Mountain and later refuses a demon offer of survival, preparing to die in battle before Meng Chuan arrives and defeats the fifth Firmament attacker. Biography

Father at the entrance examination

West Sea attends the examination because thirteen-year-old Yan Chitong insists on competing instead of accepting direct special admission. He openly explains that the boy wants to measure himself against the world's older elites, watches the candidates with other senior Godfiends, and helps discuss the willpower standards expected of future Great Solar Godfiends. (Chapters 75–88)

Years later, a fifth Firmament demon kills Marquis Purple Rain and offers West Sea a demon core, hidden betrayal, and future status. West Sea refuses, casts a forbidden spell, and fights despite expecting death. Meng Chuan arrives in time, captures the demon, and leaves West Sea to handle the aftermath. Later reports confirm his survival and Yan Chitong's gratitude; no subsequent death is stated. (Chapters 292–295 and 313)

Appearance and personality

West Sea is a sword-wielding middle-aged man. He is indulgent toward his headstrong son, forthright with fellow examiners, and uncompromising when offered treason. The text explicitly records love for his wife and pride in Yan Chitong as he prepares to die, without giving further family detail or later emotional change. (Chapters 75 and 292–295)

Abilities and cultivation

As a Marquis Godfiend, West Sea can fly, wield sword arts, and temporarily raise his strength through a forbidden spell. He is outmatched by a fifth Firmament demon with a special treasure and expects to die within a few exchanges; his resistance delays the enemy but does not reverse the disparity.
