Marquis Gong Xu

Marquis Gong Xu is a Wu State Marquis Godfiend who combines regional defense with secondary oversight of Earth Net. He kills a powerful demon monarch, enforces the initial case against Meng Dajiang, and later dies in battle after destroying one member of a fourth Firmament ambush team. (Chapters 197–342)

Biography

Law, conflict, and wartime death

Reports first credit Gong Xu with crushing a divine-power ox demon in a few blows. While overseeing Wu State, he accepts Meng Dajiang's confession and the available evidence of Skydemon collusion, orders the case sent to Archean Mountain for the required approval, and confronts Meng Chuan when he removes his father from custody. Gong Xu insists on procedure but cannot match Meng Chuan's speed and allows the sect to settle the factual dispute. (Chapters 197 and 221–225)

More than a year before Meng Chuan's memorial painting, Gong Xu uses Quintessential Essence threads against a large demon force and is ambushed by a fourth Firmament team. He kills one fourth Firmament demon monarch but dies in the engagement. This later report confirms death; it does not narrate his final thoughts or exact killing blow. (Chapter 342)

Appearance and personality

Gong Xu has a square face and is tall, stocky, muscular, solemn, and dignified. He is cold in official proceedings and angered by Meng Chuan's breach of custody, yet he waits outside the dungeon during the father–son meeting and relies on sect review rather than carrying out execution himself. (Chapters 221–225 and 342)

Abilities and cultivation

As a Marquis Godfiend, Gong Xu can fly, kill a protected demon with powerful physical blows, and release numerous Quintessential Essence threads across a mass battlefield. He is slower than Meng Chuan even when the latter carries another person, and a coordinated fourth Firmament ambush proves fatal despite his killing one attacker. His Godfiend body and named techniques are unstated. (Chapters 197, 224–225, and 342)
