Kang Min-hee

Kang Min-hee is one of the seven coworkers transported from Earth and the bearer of the Ghostly Yin Transformation Immortal Root. Her instinct to hear, guide, and protect the dead drives both her greatest power and her most dangerous loss of self. She eventually turns collective sorrow into a stable Sacred Vessel path, then reaches the Lapis Lazuli Flower Heavenly King rank by learning that protection can honor another person's completed life without preventing every farewell.

Biography

The shadow and the side path

Min-hee is chosen on Ascension Path because the Ghostly Yin Transformation Immortal Root gives her an exceptional affinity for the dead. Separation carries her into Black Ghost Valley and a Ghost Path shaped by innumerable voices. She remains diligent, but the shadow she believes has followed her since Earth makes every later reunion uncertain: the same sensitivity that lets her hear ghosts also leaves her afraid that another will has been living beside her own. When she meets the Seo Li identity, Min-hee does not accept reassurance at face value. She tests, attacks, and interrogates him, trying to determine whether he is Seo Eun-hyun, the hostile shadow, or a manipulated substitute. Her old relationship with Seo and friendship with Kim Yeon make the question personal rather than abstract. Recognition finally comes through habits and intent that a false history cannot easily reproduce. (Chapters 293–310)

Reconciliation does not slow her cultivation. She advances from Grand Perfection Heavenly Being through Four-Axis and reaches Integration within centuries, bending the side path through the attraction force of her domain. Yet the accomplishment carries a warning: the stronger her Ghost Path becomes, the more readily the Underworld and accumulated dead can prescribe what she must become. Her wish to guide souls is both her chosen responsibility and the opening through which fate approaches. (Chapters 293–310)

Awakening as the Ghost Mother

At Integration, the accumulated sorrow of countless ghosts pulls Min-hee toward the Ghost Guiding Holy Mother. She does not awaken because she wants personal dominion. Her power grows from listening to individual dead and wishing to guide rather than exploit them. Once that compassion is stripped of ordinary proportion and reason, however, it becomes catastrophic: she absorbs an immense ghostly burden and rises into a role larger than the person who chose to care. As the Ghost Mother, Min-hee reaches Star Shattering and pursues Seo across the Bright Cold Realm. Black Ghost Valley elders sacrifice themselves, Seo Li dies helping others reach her, and allies are forced to treat her as a realm-wide disaster. Seo nevertheless refuses to solve the crisis by killing her. The conflict is not only about suppressing power; it is about recovering a person from a divine function built out of the very compassion that once defined her. (Chapters 322–325, 413–428)

Seo Hweol and Oh Hye-seo ultimately help expel Min-hee into the Astral Realm rather than destroy her. Survival leaves her separated and still vulnerable to the forces using her root, but it preserves a path back to agency. The disaster changes the meaning of protection: gathering every sorrow into herself can annihilate the protector as surely as abandoning the dead, so future growth must allow grief to exist without making it the only voice she can hear. Sacred Vessel and the acceptance of sorrow

In the Astral Realm, Min-hee undergoes a Sacred Vessel ritual under direct Underworld influence. The process resembles a Ship of Theseus problem: identity is taken apart and rebuilt around the Flawless Mantra while nearby Sacred Vessels and higher alignments can affect the result. Her goal is not simply another realm. She needs a self stable enough to embrace the dead without again disappearing into their collective role. (Chapters 487–501)

The Flawless Mantra teaches her to accept that life contains sorrow rather than trying to erase sorrow through total control. That understanding also changes her bond with Seo. Earlier attachment could become a wish to hold him inside her pain; the rebuilt Min-hee learns that love and grief do not authorize imprisonment. Completing Sacred Vessel therefore restores personhood and a capacity to release, not merely a more powerful form of Ghost Mother authority. (Chapters 487–501)

By Grand Perfection Sacred Vessel, she can arrive with a host of ghosts and contest Blood Yin's domain. Her intervention demonstrates the scale of the repaired path, but it does not make the old danger irrelevant. Underworld-linked authority still attracts prescribed roles, and massive collections of spirits still require judgment rather than automatic obedience. Min-hee's latest middle-era power is strongest when she guides distinct souls instead of reducing them to a resource or extension of herself. (Chapter 541)

Letting the younger Seo Ran complete her life

The later Seo Ran—the daughter of Seo Eun-hyun and Kim Yeon, not the elder Sea Dragon who shared her name—becomes central to Min-hee's next transformation. Min-hee loves the child sometimes like a mother, sometimes like a friend, and sometimes like a cherished junior. She is not Seo Ran's biological parent, and her attachment is not identity: it is a separate relationship formed through years of care. (Chapters 703–714)

When Seo Ran chooses to complete her mortal life inside the Spring Dream sequence, Min-hee initially confronts the same fear that once made protection consume her reason. She follows the young woman through a life shaped by fate, stays beside her when the predicted flow says she should leave, and witnesses her final resistance. The ethical question is not whether Min-hee can overpower the ending, but whether love can remain real while respecting Seo Ran's decision. (Chapters 703–713)

Min-hee grieves instead of erasing the farewell. Protecting Seo Ran's dream and accepting the soul's departure awaken the Lapis Lazuli Flower Heavenly King. The title marks a development beyond Ghost Mother: sorrow still matters, but no longer requires swallowing the loved person into an eternal collective. She lets Seo Ran's fate travel into a pale-pink space with hope of another meeting, recognizing parting as neither betrayal nor proof that protection failed. (Chapters 713–716)

Director on Earth

On Earth, Min-hee's split body directs the Anomalous Phenomena Management Bureau while her greater existence remains connected elsewhere. The position translates cosmic guardianship into institutional work: reports, personnel, containment plans, and public safety. She manages phenomena that ordinary agencies cannot acknowledge, using knowledge of spirits and fate without allowing every incident to become a realm-scale intervention by her main body. Her methods remain pragmatic rather than harmless. Min-hee coordinates the Wonmi-dong hospital operation and recruits Kim Hae-sol for Ghost Island with an insider and rescue plan, knowingly exposing people to calculated risk. The bureau role therefore tests the same principle as her cultivation: protection requires judgment about other people's danger and agency, not simply overwhelming every threat after it appears. When escalation exceeds the plan, she personally intervenes. (Chapters 852–860)

This latest role preserves Min-hee as both an administrator and a transcendent protector. Kim Yeon remains a close intermediary, while meetings with Seo provide a personal connection outside official duty. Her endpoint does not abandon ghosts or sorrow. It gives those forces procedures, limits, and accountable responsibility, allowing the woman once consumed by every dead voice to decide when and how extraordinary power should enter ordinary lives. Appearance and personality

Min-hee's Integration domain presents her in the business suit she wore on Earth, tying immense Ghost Path authority to the office worker she was before arrival. As the sleeping Ghost Guiding Holy Mother, she becomes an eight-foot ghost monster surrounded by darkness and innumerable dead. Her Earth-side appearance returns to practical normality: a director at a keyboard who manages operations until circumstances demand personal intervention. (Chapters 310, 324, 852–860)

She is diligent, suspicious under trauma, practical, and deeply protective. Unlike cultivators who treat souls as fuel, she listens to individual stories and feels responsible for the dead as people. That empathy can become possessive when separation terrifies her, and her most important development is learning to grieve without overriding another person's completed choice. Administrative discipline and Heavenly King authority become two expressions of the same mature trait: care given structure rather than allowed to erase the caregiver or the protected. Abilities and cultivation

Min-hee's primary system is Ghost Path cultivation through the Ghostly Yin Transformation Immortal Root. Listening to ghosts increases her spiritual power, while attraction force gathers spirits and bends routes or domains. The same structure links her to the Underworld and makes transformation into a prescribed Holy Mother role possible. Formal cultivation, structural awakening, and Ender manifestation are therefore related but distinct changes. (Chapters 293–325, 487–541, 713–714)

Ghostly Yin Transformation Immortal Root

The root gives Min-hee an innate ability to perceive, carry, and cultivate through ghosts. She can command large spirit hosts, fold space or side paths with attraction, and grow rapidly as the stories and force of the dead accumulate around her. Its strength is relational: she does not merely consume anonymous energy but hears the burdens of individual souls, which supports unusually precise guidance and makes her authority attractive to spirits seeking release. Its central limitation is loss of proportion. The Underworld connection and accumulated dead can overwhelm her reason, transforming care into the automatic Ghost Guiding Holy Mother role. Stronger cultivation does not by itself solve that risk; Integration and Star Shattering actually give the prescribed identity more power to act. Recovery requires a stable self and an ethic capable of letting spirits remain distinct rather than treating their sorrow as a command she must embody completely. (Chapters 322–325, 413–428)

Ghost Guiding Holy Mother

The Ghost Mother manifestation gathers immense numbers of dead into a towering form and grants Star Shattering-scale authority over ghostly power. It can consume part of a realm's spiritual burden, command vast hosts, and pursue targets through domains shaped by sorrow. The form is not a neutral combat transformation. During its first awakening, Min-hee's own judgment is submerged, making allies fight the role while trying to preserve the person inside it. (Chapters 322–325, 413–428)

Later Sacred Vessel reconstruction lets her wield large ghost forces with greater stability, culminating in her attempt to seize Blood Yin's domain. Even then, the method depends on spirits, Underworld alignment, and the integrity of her reconstructed self. Its latest conceptual development is protective rather than assimilative: ghosts can be guided through Min-hee's authority without becoming proof that she must contain every death forever. Flawless Mantra and Sacred Vessel reconstruction

The Flawless Mantra is imparted through the Ghostly Yin Transformation Immortal Root under Underworld influence and becomes the core of Min-hee's Sacred Vessel ritual. It supports reconstruction of a stable identity after Ghost Mother, joining cultivation to an acceptance that sorrow belongs to life. The full operating mechanism is not completely explained, so its demonstrated role is clearer than its complete formula or activation conditions. (Chapters 487–501)

The ritual is vulnerable to nearby Sacred Vessels and higher authorities, which can influence the self being rebuilt. Completion carries Min-hee to Sacred Vessel and later Grand Perfection, but the important limitation remains psychological and spiritual: no mantra can make loss unreal. Its success gives her the capacity to hold grief without binding Seo or the dead to it, a foundation later required for the enlightenment of parting. (Chapters 487–501, 541)

Lapis Lazuli Flower authority

Lapis Lazuli Flower Heavenly King manifests when Min-hee protects Seo Ran's dream while accepting the end of the young woman's chosen life. Its medicine and flower imagery continues her protective path, but the demonstrated enlightenment is parting rather than indefinite preservation. She can extend a law that supports another person's will across spacetime and join the Enders' divine battles without turning the protected person into an object she owns. (Chapters 713–716)

The exact mechanical scope is less fully explained than the authority's origin and rank. It does not negate every death, reverse a completed life on demand, or justify overriding autonomous choices. By the latest Earth-side chapters, Min-hee combines that transcendent capacity with controlled institutional intervention, reserving personal force for crises that exceed prepared containment rather than using Heavenly King power as the first answer to every anomaly.
