Dragon Sword
The Dragon Sword is one of Selma's traded treasures and Du Ge's signature weapon during the latter part of the sea simulation.
History
Selma offers the sword as an artifact that provides the strength and courage of a dragon. Du Ge engineers a transaction in which Barry pays with his capacity for sorrow, then takes the weapon into the campaign against the rival pirate kings. He tells Barry and Ed that the sword and the Stone of Glory will sustain the Sea Fish Pirates after his eventual departure, but this is an intended succession rather than an immediate transfer: Du Ge continues wielding the sword through the final battle and uses it to mark the Trident of the Sea God shortly before the simulation closes. (Chapters 167–173 and 183)
Abilities and properties
The sword is described as indestructible and immediately gives its holder enormous physical strength; Du Ge feels capable of lifting Enke and compares the increase to his strength near the end of the preceding simulation. It remains a close-range weapon, however, and does not prevent injury from Janice's ice or replace the need for the Trident of the Sea God. Its hardness also has a noncombat use: Du Ge uses its edge to carve an activation mark into the trident. (Chapters 168, 181, and 183)

| Du Ge | Actual recipient and wielder who treated the traded equipment as his own; he contemplated a future transfer to the Sea Fish Pirates but still held the sword when the simulation closed. (Chapters 168–183) |
