Bloodline Crystal

A Bloodline Crystal is a crimson Warlock resource that can strengthen or slightly purify a bloodline. The crystals are of limited value to Leylin’s already-purified Giant Kemoyin Serpent bloodline, but they are precious to clans facing hereditary decline.

History

Harvest from the Blood Vultures

Leylin first obtains crystals while raiding the Blood Vultures’ domain, where they appear among concentrated bloodline resources. He takes several pieces, later revealing one to Kesha and keeping others from the larger cache. (Chapters 427–439)

Freya’s exchange

Kesha brings Freya to negotiate for Leylin’s last available crystal. Freya trades precious materials and Hydro and Crystal Phase spell formations for it. The crystal assuages her family’s bloodline deterioration, but Leylin warns that it can only delay the decline for roughly a century and that repeated use rapidly loses effectiveness. (Chapters 442–443 and 465)

Later production

Bloodline extraction later forms additional crystals in Twilight Zone. Leylin considers their quality beneath his needs and gives them to Celine and other subordinates, showing that the name refers to a class of produced resource rather than one unique stone. (Chapter 605)

Abilities and properties

• Slightly increases bloodline purity and can temporarily relieve inherited bloodline deterioration. (Chapters 428 and 442–443)
• Has little effect on a bloodline already purified to its limit. (Chapter 428)
• Loses effectiveness with repeated use and cannot permanently cure a declining clan bloodline. (Chapter 443)
