Last pillar of Nature's Alliance

Celine inherits Nature's Alliance after her mentor dies, receiving an organization whose reputation and resource rights were built around power she does not yet possess. The guild specializes in plants from other worlds, advanced greenhouse cultivation, and a support-oriented meditation inheritance. Those assets make it useful, but its new leader is only a recently advanced Rank 1 Magus and its sole official Magus. Without a stronger protector, its rating, estates, mines, recruitment capacity, and even institutional survival are exposed at the next eastern guild conference. (Chapters 318–320 and 330)

Her first approach to Leylin is therefore a calculated recruitment attempt. Celine has the Icy Jade Scorpion's Breath he wants and controls the easiest legitimate route into the icy caves, while he appears to be a powerful unaffiliated Magus. She uses the natural affinity and illusion cultivated by her meditation technique to make herself more persuasive, then directs a subtle spiritual illusion toward him when ordinary negotiation stalls. Leylin's stronger soul and the A.I. Chip expose the attempt and reverse its effects. Celine immediately understands that the contest is over and changes tactics instead of escalating against someone she cannot control. (Chapters 319–321)

She offers him an honorary professorship, a large salary, laboratories, rare resources, and guild access. The agreement lets Leylin enter the caves under an accepted identity while giving Nature's Alliance a visible defender. Celine also supplies local maps and warnings about the Icy Jade Scorpions, correctly recognizing that her own strength would hinder rather than help in the deepest danger. Her leadership at this point is not martial dominance; it is the ability to turn information, legal access, and institutional resources into protection. (Chapters 320–323)

A calculated partnership

The partnership becomes decisive when the guild conference approaches. Celine explains that the Alliance's small-guild rank rested on her late mentor's ability to fight a semi-converted Magus to a draw. Her own power cannot reproduce that result. Demotion would cost the organization its profitable territories and limit the acolytes it could accept, beginning a decline from which it was unlikely to recover. The alternatives available to her are unreliable admirers such as Skrill, whose support would carry competing obligations and the risk of domination. (Chapter 330)

Celine consequently stakes the organization on Leylin. She offers him practical control of Nature's Alliance and enters a personal relationship with him, stating plainly that if survival requires aligning herself with a stronger Magus, she will choose the strongest and most useful candidate. The choice is coercive in the wider sense that weak guilds have few safe options, but it is not portrayed as ignorance: she understands Leylin is exploiting the guild's library and resources just as deliberately as she is using his power. She also knows when to leave him to research rather than demanding displays of affection or loyalty. (Chapters 330–332)

At the conference, Celine brings essentially the Alliance's entire force because there is little reserve strength to leave behind. She uses her relationships with other small guilds, introduces Leylin to allies, and places the one honorary-professor slot permitted by the rules entirely in his hands. Leylin's victory and revealed strength protect the rating and alter the guild's position far beyond what Celine could have achieved through her own Rank 1 combat. Her gamble succeeds, but its success also confirms that Nature's Alliance now rests on his authority. (Chapters 332–335)

Family in Twilight Zone

Leylin eventually leaves Twilight Zone and continues his advancement elsewhere. Celine remains below ground, where the relationship produces their son Daniel and makes her the caretaker of a family branch separated from Leylin's central-continent household. The corpus gives little detail about the intervening years, but her continued position beside Daniel shows that she preserves both the child and Leylin's subterranean connection rather than following him into conflicts she cannot survive. After Leylin breaks the Snake Dowager's bloodline shackles, he reaches across worlds with his soul force and appears before Celine and Daniel. Celine initially reacts with fear to the overwhelming face formed from dark particles, then recognizes Leylin and confirms that the event is not one of her own illusions. Leylin restructures Daniel at the cellular level with Devour and dreamforce, naming the resulting line the World Serpent Jormungandr, and asks Celine to continue caring for him. She first checks that her son is alive, then safeguards the black bloodline rune left in his hand. (Chapter 767)

This encounter does not grant Celine the new bloodline herself. It changes her family responsibility: she becomes the guardian of a child whose violent but mature inherited path can reach Rank 6 only because it originates in Leylin's current power. Her final recorded reaction is awe at the level he has reached, an appropriate endpoint for a relationship that began when she mistook an injured Rank 2 Warlock for merely a useful peak Rank 1 Magus. Appearance and personality

Celine is renowned for a beauty enhanced by Nature's Alliance's meditation method, with a graceful figure, long slender legs, and a sweet voice. Her movements produce an impression of elegance and harmless playfulness that makes hostility difficult even when an observer knows she is acting deliberately. This presentation is partly magical and partly practiced social skill, not evidence that every person who finds her attractive is under a spell. (Chapters 319–320)

She is intelligent, politically alert, and unsentimental about the narrow options available to a weak organization. Celine tries manipulation when it seems efficient, abandons it when Leylin proves immune, and bargains without pretending that affection and institutional survival are unrelated. Her fear for Daniel and astonishment at Leylin's later return reveal genuine personal attachment beneath that pragmatism. (Chapters 320–332 and 767)

Magic, bloodline, and abilities

Celine is a Rank 1 Magus whose inheritance emphasizes affinity, illusion, botanical knowledge, and social influence rather than direct destructive force.

Rank 1 advancement and natural-affinity meditation

Celine has only recently become an official Magus when Leylin investigates the guild. Her high-grade meditation technique increases natural affinity: it draws compatible illusion particles, makes practitioners physically attractive, and influences how other beings unconsciously receive them. Leylin infers that a sufficiently advanced stage might affect even official Magi more deeply, but explicitly recognizes this as conjecture beyond Celine's demonstrated attainment. Her current presence can soften reactions and make persuasion easier; it cannot overcome Leylin's stronger spiritual force. (Chapters 319–320)

The technique is support-oriented and is readily recognizable in a formal guild contest, where a participant's meditation signature identifies their affiliation. Nature's Alliance therefore cannot simply replace its missing combat power by disguising an outsider as one of its own ordinary students; Leylin must enter through the permitted honorary-professor role. Celine's Rank 1 advancement gives the Alliance the minimum basis to remain recognized, but not the semi-converted combat equivalence required to preserve its previous rating unaided. Illusion and mental influence

Celine can send subtle spiritual force toward a target's brain and sea of consciousness through eye contact and social interaction. The effect is meant to influence judgment rather than produce a large visible mirage, complementing the friendliness produced by her meditation method. She uses it while offering Leylin guild membership, attempting to make the proposal more compelling without announcing an attack. (Chapter 320)

The attempt establishes clear counters and risk. Leylin's A.I. Chip detects the nearly imperceptible force, his superior soul rejects it, and the feedback rebounds onto Celine. She cannot force an opponent with much greater spiritual control and may expose herself by trying. Afterward she relies on honest leverage—access, salary, research facilities, and political need—showing that illusion is one tool rather than the foundation of all her decisions. (Chapters 320–321)

Botanical and institutional expertise

Nature's Alliance maintains unusual greenhouses and researches plants brought from other worlds. As its inheritor, Celine can manage those facilities, evaluate botanical resources, and provide a laboratory environment for Magus research. The corpus does not show her casting a named plant-attack spell; her demonstrated plant affinity is expressed through cultivation, resources, and the guild's environment. (Chapters 319–321 and 330)

Her most consequential noncombat skill is organizational survival. She understands the conference's rating rules, cultivates allies among small guilds, controls access to the Alliance's archives and facilities, and recruits a protector without surrendering the institution to an openly hostile faction. This competence cannot replace power in the Magus World, but it lets Celine acquire and direct the power she lacks long enough for Nature's Alliance and her family to endure.
