Biography

Conquest of the north

Saladin declares that the northern lands will belong to the orcs and commands the assault on Silverymoon as Gruumsh's Chosen. He enlarges into a giant and meets Alustriel at the level of legendary champions while the armies fight beneath them. The Thunder God's Hammer channels a Lightning Strike powerful enough to rupture the city's defence, but the exchange grievously wounds him. Gruumsh possesses and reinforces his vessel so that the emperor survives to consolidate the conquest. The victory makes Saladin the first ruler of the new orc empire, but it is achieved through the combination of his martial strength, a divine weapon, and direct patron intervention. Emperor, defender, and reluctant ally

Saladin proves more than a raider after the conquest. He copies useful human institutions, protects merchants, and seeks stable supplies because an empire cannot survive on plunder alone. That pragmatism creates friction with older customs but gives the orcs a durable state. He continues opposing Alustriel's rebuilt alliance until the Lightkiller Bugs threaten both populations. Survival then outweighs sacred rivalry: Saladin negotiates cooperation, commits elite troops, and brings the hammer into a joint counterattack with the people he displaced. Appearance and personality

Saladin is an orc with steel-spiked fur and electric eyes. His transformation enlarges him into a giant more than fifty metres tall. Authoritative and intimidating, he is also a farsighted ruler willing to trade fairly and cooperate with old enemies when his people's survival demands it. (Chapters 904–918 and 1147–1188)

Magic, bloodline, and abilities

Legendary body and giant transformation

Saladin is a legendary orc warrior who can enlarge beyond fifty metres, multiplying his reach and physical force while retaining enough control to duel another legendary. The transformation is his demonstrated bodily capability, but the corpus does not establish that its raw strength alone could break Silverymoon's prepared magical defence. His electric eyes and steel-like fur reinforce the image of a body adapted to Gruumsh's martial path. (Chapters 904–919)

Chosen status and divine possession

As Gruumsh's Chosen, Saladin can receive divine force and act as the god's champion in the material plane. At the fall of Silverymoon, Gruumsh's possession preserves and empowers him after damage that his own reserves could not safely endure. Effects performed while the god controls or floods the vessel therefore represent borrowed divine authority, not permanent proof that Saladin personally possesses a greater god's power. Thunder God's Hammer and command

The Thunder God's Hammer enlarges with Saladin, conducts divine lightning, and enables named attacks such as Lightning Strike. It is an orc divine weapon, not an innate bloodline organ, and losing it would remove the demonstrated source of his largest lightning effects. His armies, merchants, and imperial administration are likewise commanded resources. They show strategic and political ability without becoming personal supernatural techniques.
