Biography

Apprentice bound for Silverymoon

Ena travels north with her sister Isadora and their companion Bessany, sent by two minor noble families to seek wizard training in Silverymoon. All three have contacted the first level of the Weave before arrival. During a goblin attack, Ena casts Vertigo on a charging hobgoblin and, after the apprentices' limited magic proves insufficient, keeps her nerve long enough to protect the panicking Isadora. Leylin Farlier rescues the caravan, and the three later enrol at Oakleaf college (Chapters 883–887).

Work in Leylin's laboratory

Ena and the other apprentices accept paid work in Leylin's alchemy laboratory, purchasing reagents, collecting resources, and arranging the sale and delivery of finished goods. She understands how rare employment under a mid-ranked wizard is, restrains Isadora when her comments risk offending him, and carries instructions to the shop without trying to claim Bessany's special alchemy lessons for herself (Chapters 887–889).

When war erupts, Ena's family orders both sisters home and only Bessany remains in the workshop. The last information about Ena is indirect: Bessany, who advances faster under Leylin's private guidance, thinks of Ena and Isadora as still at rank 3. No later career or wartime fate is supplied (Chapter 906).

Appearance and personality

Ena resembles Isadora and initially wears a blue checkered skirt decorated with small flowers. She is quieter and shyer than her sister, but more composed under pressure and more perceptive about status and motives. She correctly suspects that access to Silverymoon's library helps explain Leylin's military service and carefully protects the employment opportunity he gives them.

Magic, bloodline, and abilities

Ena begins as a wizard apprentice who has contacted the first level of the Weave and can use a small allotment of rank 0 spells. Her one named casting, Vertigo, leaves a charging hobgoblin dazed and vulnerable to a housekeeper's axe. The goblin battle also shows the limit of apprentice magic: the group's slots are few, and Ena still depends on mundane defenders and Leylin's rescue once the attackers overwhelm the caravan (Chapters 883, 885).

By the time she returns home, she is later described as a rank 3 wizard. The chapters do not identify her rank 1–3 spell repertoire, special bloodline, alchemy expertise, or a signature magic item. Her laboratory work is primarily logistical, allowing her to observe Leylin without receiving Bessany's personal instruction (Chapters 889, 906).
