Biography

Silverymoon apprentice

Bessany comes from a minor noble family that sells property to provide five hundred gold coins for her wizard education. She travels with Ena and Isadora seeking a Silverymoon tutor, but academy fees and the scarcity of mid-ranked mentors make that hope remote. When goblins overwhelm their caravan, Leylin Farlier rescues the group, and she later enrols at the inexpensive Oakleaf college (Chapters 883–887).

The three apprentices accept paid work in Leylin's laboratory. Bessany keeps sales records and statistics, reports payments and commercial enquiries, and studies his item-making whenever possible. At first she is not permitted to deliver goods or handle client transfers. Her talent and persistence eventually persuade Leylin to give her several hours of alchemy instruction each week in return for additional work (Chapters 887–889).

Contract with the Faulen family

Bessany remains at Leylin's residence when her companions' families recall them during the war. Under his guidance she reaches rank 5, maintains the workshop, and keeps its finances in order. She refuses to return home because her family would treat a wizard and alchemist as a lifetime resource or use her to continue a magical bloodline (Chapter 906).

Leylin offers continued instruction and financial backing in exchange for fifty years as a Faulen alchemist. Bessany reads the written terms and signs in blood, but overlooks a decorative border that makes the spirit-binding contract transfer a trace of soul origin and gives Leylin claim to her soul after death. Unaware of the hidden condition, she departs for the Faulen Islands with emergency funds, scrolls, and magic items (Chapter 906).

Appearance and personality

Bessany is good-natured, enthusiastic, and initially hesitant around a wizard of higher status. Work makes her organised and confident enough to manage valuable accounts. Her determination comes from both love of magical knowledge and fear that returning home will end her independent advancement, a pressure that helps Leylin secure an unequal contract.

Magic, bloodline, and abilities

Bessany advances from a rank 0-capable apprentice connected to the first level of the Weave to a rank 5 wizard under Leylin's guidance. The supplied chapters do not name any spell she casts or show a combat feat; during the goblin attack she depends on Leylin's rescue.
