Rayray

Rayray is the God of Flash, a talkative viewer who leaves the comforts of Yesterday to join Rene's rebellion inside Metaverse. Initially known to Jaehwan only through Little Brother messages, Rayray becomes an active teammate, guide, and rear guard whose decision to stay behind lets the others reach the ninth floor. (Chapters 112–138, 162–164)

Biography

Leaving Yesterday

Rayray first reacts to Jaehwan's rise as an entertained viewer, offering to make him a Vicegerent and commenting throughout Rene's broadcasts. The god criticizes the Alliance's tactics, worries about the Revolutionary Army, and admits being unable to intervene immediately because their own Vicegerent is asleep. By the seventh floor Rayray appears through a lightning-haired young body, introduces Jaehwan to the passengers resisting the Alliance, and joins Rene's Terrorist team in capturing Plants. (Chapters 112–133, 138)

Rayray explains that they once lived as an Anonymous God in Yesterday, allowing its God to manage their Worldview, Followers, and Parts. Watching Rene repeatedly challenge that dependency convinces Rayray that the comfortable life is wrong and gives them courage to leave. That choice makes Rayray more than a spectator: they race ahead during Plant assaults, use flash attacks against defenders, and run for King in the election despite becoming flustered before the enormous audience. The road to the ninth floor

After the revolution overturns Yesterday, Rayray embraces the emerging coalition even while retaining habits from anonymous life, including impulsively buying the new Naked Jaehwan Skin. Rayray searches for supporters, confronts the vastly stronger Russell to protect the young gods at the Black Shop, and later stands beside Rene when gods and Lords block Jaehwan's climb. Their defiance is important precisely because Rayray knows they cannot defeat every opponent confronting the group. (Chapters 144–153, 159–162)

When the ninth floor's limited capacity forces a separation, Rayray remains directly before the Eighth Floor Door with Imai Kazuki to buy time for the others. Runald worries about the “uncle” he has grown close to, while Rayray continues sending cheers for Jaehwan during the final duel. The corpus does not record Rayray's death or elimination, but it also does not show a later reunion; their last established position is alive and fighting outside the closed ninth floor. (Chapters 162–164)

Appearance and personality

Rayray's manifested body is a young man with hair resembling lightning and eyes that turn pure white when divine messages appear. On the Eighth Floor they equip a flamboyantly golden Naked Jaehwan Skin, so that muscular body is a cosmetic appearance rather than Rayray's natural form. Their underlying divine form and the identity of the body used in Metaverse are not further explained. (Chapters 138, 150)

Sociable and opinionated in chat, Rayray becomes shy when speaking before a mass audience. They are self-aware about their former dependency and candid enough to explain it to Runald without excusing it. Courage is their main development: the god who once stayed anonymous eventually challenges Russell, shields Jaehwan's route, and accepts the rear-guard position after the ninth floor fills. Powers and limitations

• Divine link and participation: Rayray communicates through Little Brother and can operate physically in Metaverse through a god-associated body. Their early inability to rush to a crisis because their Vicegerent is asleep shows that divine speed still depends on an available vessel or link. The text does not identify whether the later young body is that Vicegerent, a Doll, or another permitted Metaverse form. (Chapters 112–138)

• Flash and speed: True to the title God of Flash, Rayray moves ahead of the Terrorist team at exceptional speed and rains flash attacks on fleeing defenders. These abilities make them effective at pursuit and buying time, but no named representative Setting or exact top speed is supplied. Russell's Deep Sea pressure can still leave Rayray pale and unable to dominate the confrontation. (Chapters 123, 138, 153)

• Skins and trust: Rayray uses Metaverse's Skin system and spends trust on cosmetic or functional forms, including Naked Jaehwan. A Skin can alter speech and appearance, but it is not an innate Rayray power; their automatic martial-world diction while wearing it is attributed to the Setting packaged with the Skin. Old gacha habits are also a personal weakness rather than a combat limitation. (Chapters 119–120, 150)

Relationships

• Rene: Rene's persistence persuades Rayray to leave Yesterday and join the rebellion. They fight, campaign, recruit, and defend Jaehwan's path together, with Rayray frequently explaining the tower's systems when Rene is occupied. (Chapters 138–150, 159–164)

• Jaehwan: Rayray begins as a viewer and prospective divine patron, then becomes Jaehwan's fan and Ally. They support his revolution with speed and flash attacks and ultimately remain behind so he can advance, continuing to cheer through the broadcast. (Chapters 112–138, 162–164)

• Runald: Rayray patiently explains Yesterday and the election to Runald, who comforts them after a poor campaign speech. Their companionship grows enough that Runald calls them Uncle Rayray and worries when they do not cross the final Door. (Chapters 140–141, 150, 164)

• Russell: Rayray knows Russell from earlier in the Abyss and deliberately provokes the Seven Star to protect younger gods at the Black Shop. Rayray cannot match Russell's crushing World Pressure, but refusing to retreat creates the delay in which Jaehwan enters the confrontation. (Chapter 153)

• Naked Jaehwan Skin: Rayray draws and equips the golden Skin released after Jaehwan becomes famous. It disguises their appearance and carries a martial-world speech Setting, but its exact combat benefits are not demonstrated; Rayray primarily presents it as a way to confuse Jaehwan's enemies.
