Biography

Expertise undone by supernatural pressure

Patricia joins the expedition because her tracking, lockpicking, and poison work fill practical gaps in a team of Grandmasters, and she initially meets danger with flippant confidence. The forest's monochrome fog and illusions steadily erode that composure until she lights a prohibited fire for comfort. The flame makes her the wooden spiders' exclusive target; panic then spoils the precision on which her ranged attacks depend. When Bob and Leo conclude that remaining beside her will kill them as well, they withdraw, leaving Patricia to be overwhelmed by the swarm she inadvertently drew. (Chapters 266, 280, 286–288)

Appearance and personality

Patricia has red hair and habitually chews or pops gum. She begins the mission flirtatious and irreverent, yet also alert enough to notice footsteps and environmental changes. Her eventual panic is not presented as ordinary incompetence: it develops after sustained sensory distortion, isolation, and supernatural pressure, though her decision to break the no-fire rule directly worsens the danger. Patricia is explicitly a Grandmaster and is valued as a tracker, lockpicker, and poison specialist. In combat she throws daggers and uses Needle Rain, generating hundreds of razor-thin mana projectiles across an area.
