Oana Halep

Oana Halep is a Romanian Earthling Priest, the younger sister of Vlad Halep, and a pathfinder able to perceive spirits and spatial distortions. Her Spirit Eyes make the expedition to the Spirit Realm possible while repeatedly exposing her to phenomena that other members cannot see.

Biography

Spirit Eyes and the route to the Spirit Realm

Oana acquires Spirit Eyes after accepting a spirit that had tormented her family for years, leaving her able to see ghosts and overlapping worlds while retaining control of her own mind. When Seol Jihu needs a pathfinder through an Astral distortion, she agrees because the mission serves Paradise and repays him for saving the Halep siblings at the Banquet. Her sight reveals spatial fissures, identifies a safe route, and lets the team reach the central passage despite nausea, seizures, and repeated exposure to sights outside ordinary human perception. (Chapters 140 and 143–144)

After the expedition, Oana and Vlad live under Valhalla's protection and become official members. During Haramark's desperate defense she calmly senses Seol's return before her brother understands what has changed. Years later, she joins a rescue expedition, casts Redemptio to break a restraint on Yi Seol-Ah, and identifies when Vlad disappears from the rear guard. Her own condition remains stable in the final cited scene, but the rescue operation is unresolved at that point. (Chapters 178, 190, 202, and 248)

Appearance and personality

Oana is a frail young woman with moonlit white hair reaching her waist, hollow-looking pupils, and a white headband. She speaks dreamily, smiles with an occasionally unsettling distance, and can discuss spirits with unusual calm. That composure has limits: the Astral phenomenon overwhelms her into seizures and tears, yet she rests, adapts, and resumes guiding the party. (Chapters 140 and 143–144)

Abilities and class

Oana is identified as a Priest, but her exact level and formal class name are not stated. Spirit Eyes allow her to see ghosts, possession, spatial cracks, and overlapping Astral structures that are invisible or misleading to ordinary senses. She also casts Redemptio as an anti-restraint spell. Her sight causes physical and psychological strain and does not automatically explain everything she perceives. (Chapters 140, 143–144, and 248)

Relationships

• Vlad Halep: Vlad is Oana's older brother and protector. She relies on his support but makes her own decision to guide Seol, later joins Valhalla with him, and is the first to notice his disappearance during the rescue mission. (Chapters 140, 143–144, 178, 190, and 248)
• Seol Jihu: Oana regards Seol as the Banquet benefactor she should repay and becomes the indispensable guide for his Spirit Realm operation. Valhalla later gives the siblings the safety they had lacked. (Chapters 140–144 and 178)
• Yi Seol-Ah: Oana recognizes that something is wrong with Yi Seol-Ah during the later rescue and briefly stops a supernatural restraint with Redemptio. The spell helps but does not end the larger phenomenon. (Chapter 248)
