Clara Julian

Clara Julian is a Level 2 Hunter on Samuel's team whose greed brings an ancient tomb expedition close to disaster. After later dying in Paradise, she survives on Earth but is shown suffering severe psychological damage associated with the memories retained after that death.

Biography

The Forest of Denial expedition and its aftermath

Clara enters the Forest of Denial as Samuel's Archer and helps hold off Lioners while Ian Denzel prepares a spell, though her arrows cannot penetrate their thick hides. In the imperial tomb, the promise of valuable burial goods overrides both the written warning and Seol Jihu's objections. She lifts a blue-gem necklace from a sarcophagus, tries to take it again after Seol replaces it, and even draws her bow on him when he refuses to yield. Samuel's intervention and the expedition's majority decision prevent the confrontation from becoming lethal, leaving Clara embittered but unable to seize the grave's central keepsake. (Chapters 25, 27, 29–31)

The supplied chapters do not show Clara's later death in Paradise. An Earth-side medical file in Chapter 159 says that she died there while still a Level 2 after about seven months of involvement. Unlike several former teammates who subsequently die on Earth, Clara remains alive in a psychiatric hospital, staring vacantly and failing to react even to a loud disturbance. The scene establishes serious mental illness but gives neither a diagnosis nor evidence that she recovered later. (Chapter 159)

Appearance and personality

Clara is a brunette woman with curly hair. She can be sociable and playful when first meeting a new teammate, but becomes contemptuous and openly aggressive when profit is at stake. Her behavior in the tomb is marked by greed, anger at being challenged, and a willingness to discount risk; the later hospital scene shows profound impairment but does not explain how much of her former personality remains accessible. Abilities and class

As a Level 2 Hunter, Clara fights with a bow and can support a front line by firing continuously. Against the Lioners, however, her arrows bounce from their hides, demonstrating that her offensive power cannot overcome every target's defenses. No named skill, advancement, or specialized Hunter mechanic is established before her death in Paradise. (Chapters 25, 27, 159)

• Samuel: Clara serves on Samuel's team. He stops her confrontation with Seol and ultimately accepts the vote against opening the sarcophagus. (Chapters 25, 29)
