Biography

A story built around the Viper

Yip first enters the conflict by approaching the Malefic Viper after the destruction of the Brimstone Hegemon. Although he initially speaks of becoming the first Primordial Slayer, testing the Viper matters more than an immediate killing attempt. Their short exchange reveals both his ambition and his method: he can treat destructive actions as unrealized possibilities, but the Viper leaves a poisoned scar that survives the revision. Yip responds by proposing that their next contest unfold through their Chosen, converting a personal challenge into a much longer story. (Chapters 116 and 155)

Yip cultivates that story through Ell’Hakan, whose emotional and karmic methods are meant to counter Jake while accumulating the reputation their patron requires. He openly makes the rivalry part of his own growth, builds alliances, and waits for the narrative to reach what he believes will be its strongest finale before confronting the Viper. The plan fails: the later Earth conflict confirms both Ell’Hakan and Yip dead, ending the patron-and-Chosen design they had tried to impose.
