Yggdrasil
Yggdrasil is the Primordial of Life, a cosmic world tree whose body houses and anchors the Pantheon of Life’s Divine Realm.
Biography
Hunting Grounds and B-grade evolution
Yggdrasil first affected Earth through an invitation, while Nature’s Attendant conducted most of her outward business. She manifested directly around Dina’s return from Nevermore, examined how Jake’s Bloodline had altered Dina and Artemis, and permitted the consequences to develop under observation. She later received Jake within her realm, established cautious protocol around him, contributed living wood to the Golden Forest King’s restored vessel, and remained connected to the Pantheon’s investigation when the Seeker bypassed its border defenses. (Chapters 69, 895–897, 1091–1093, 1151, 1195)
Appearance and personality
Yggdrasil’s true body is an immeasurably large tree whose roots penetrate a Great Planet and whose crown contains planets, spaces, and inhabited realms. She can form a humanoid dryad-like manifestation from wood, but the corpus does not establish stable facial details for it. Her manner is remote, measured, and quietly amused; she rarely intervenes directly, yet becomes decisive and protective when her realm or dependents require action. (Chapters 895–897, 1091–1093)
Path, class, and abilities
Yggdrasil is both deity and territory. Her living body sustains a Divine Realm, produces divine wood, shapes life-aligned vessels, and can exert crushing environmental pressure throughout her domain. A branch from her body becomes part of Jake’s world-tree bow, and her wood helps recreate the Golden Forest King’s body-mask. Within her own realm, that territorial integration makes her exceptionally difficult to challenge. (Chapters 1091–1093, 1151)
Her power is inseparable from being rooted. Destroying the tree would also destroy the realm and Yggdrasil herself, although the scale and defenses of both make that prospect extraordinary. She delegates mobility and diplomacy to Nature’s Attendant, and rare methods such as the Seeker’s can evade the Pantheon’s detection network; her latest role remains that of the realm’s living anchor and ultimate authority. (Chapters 792, 1091–1093, 1195)
Relationships
- Nature’s Attendant is Yggdrasil’s trusted partner and representative, handling travel, diplomacy, and administration that her rooted existence makes inconvenient.
- Dina is a protected member of the Pantheon whose Nevermore development Yggdrasil personally examines.
- Artemis is Yggdrasil’s former Chosen and remains tied to her life-aligned Records, making Jake’s changes to Artemis a matter of direct interest.
- Fallen King receives a new vessel made partly from Yggdrasil’s living wood, binding his restoration to the Pantheon’s craft.
