Biography

The Floor Climb and Challenge Dungeons

Polly first confronts Jake as an aristocratic novice mage, but her slow fireballs fail and she surrenders before he can kick her. Humiliated yet impressed, she seeks him out and offers long-term partnership, dropping much of her affected etiquette when his teasing finally makes her speak honestly. Polly then researches opponents, purchases information when authorized, helps Jake obtain clothing and supplies, monitors his injuries, and supports his climb through the Colosseum. Her closeness with Owen develops into an acknowledged romance, while Jake’s departure ends the only persistence of their dungeon-instance relationship shown in the corpus. Appearance and personality

Polly is an elven woman who initially wears an overly elegant dress, gloves, and carries a wand. She later chooses a less extravagant robe and hides her nervous face behind a fan. Proud of noble etiquette and her teacher, she can be pompous and easily flustered, but she is also diligent, loyal, observant, and markedly more likable once she stops performing formality. Polly calls herself a master sorcerer in the making, but her first arena performance exposes major limitations.
