Louise

Biography

Designing Haven

Louise survived the Tutorial alongside her father Hank, her brother Mark, and Miranda Wells, while her mother and other relatives did not. Already devoted to drawing, she helped turn the family's move to Haven into practical plans: she argued that the settlement offered safety, designed Jake Thayne's lodge, and developed layouts as the growing city created more construction work. Her contribution matured into architectural planning alongside Hank's building, including Jake's laboratory, gates, and other facilities. (Chapters 127, 129, 133, 180, 374)

Louise also used minor earth-shaping to create pits and defensive terrain, then emptied her mana into Haven's barrier during the attack by Abby's group. Much later, when Ell'Hakan invaded, she was still below D-grade and could not match the escaping fighters' speed; Christen and Hank carried her through the retreat, and she survived. (Chapters 147–148, 533)

Appearance and personality

Louise is twenty-two at integration. The supplied text gives no stable, detailed physical portrait beyond situational clothing and reactions. She is creative, talkative, curious, and practical, with a forceful concern for her family's safety and a willingness to turn visual ideas into useful civic designs.

Path, class, and abilities

Louise's demonstrated Path grows from artist into designer and construction planner, while the narrative does not finalize “architect” as an exact system profession name. She produces drawings, building layouts, and city plans that Hank and other builders can realize. Her combat contribution is secondary: she can reshape limited areas of earth and supply mana to a barrier, but these exertions deplete her reserves, and her sub-D-grade body makes her dependent on stronger companions during a high-speed evacuation.

Relationships

  • Hank: Her father and building partner, who turns many of her designs into structures.
  • Mark: Her brother and fellow Tutorial survivor.
  • Miranda Wells: A close survivor companion who helps bring the family to Haven.
  • Chris: A builder who has a crush on her and collaborates with her on monument drawings.
  • Jake Thayne: The owner of several facilities she designs and the leader under whose protection Haven grows.
