Albaromoz
Biography
Lessons and Bloodline diplomacy
Albaromoz returned to teaching with a high-level lesson on synchronizing Willpower, Alchemical Flame, and a Soulflame. When the disguised Jake Thayne saw through his harmless demonstration and blocked Identify, Albaromoz inferred that the supposed senior was a newly integrated Bloodline Patriarch. He reported the discovery to his Patron, Fireplume, and proposed using Helenstromoz to evaluate and cautiously recruit Jake, while accepting strict instructions not to violate the Order's boundaries. (Chapters 420, 423–425)
His assignment grew from recruitment into diplomacy as Jake's hidden status became clearer. Albaromoz questioned Draskil after divine intervention removed Jake from an Emberflight meeting, attended the Chosen ceremony, and learned that the “Bloodline Patriarch” was the Malefic Viper's Chosen. By the latest update, repeated Dragonflight inquiries have made him the principal Emberflight source on Jake. He advises against manipulative courtship and instead recommends respectful contact through people Jake already trusts. (Chapters 605, 641–642, 796)
Appearance and personality
Albaromoz is explicitly a red true dragon; the supplied text does not establish a separate humanoid appearance. He is observant, formal, cautious, and politically pragmatic. He respects hierarchy without being passive, proposes concrete diplomatic moves, and becomes increasingly weary of the attention generated by his early contact with Jake.
Path, class, and abilities
As a mid-tier A-grade of the fire- and alchemy-aligned Emberflight, Albaromoz possesses an integrated Soulflame granted by Fireplume shortly after he reached A-grade. He synchronizes it with Willpower and Alchemical Flame to impose concepts of creation and destruction: his deep-red flame can cover dozens of square kilometers, erase enchanted stone, and reconstruct ordinary stone from environmental mana. Once summoned, it can remain linked through Willpower inside an anti-magic formation.
The technique follows intent rather than becoming unrestricted destruction. Jake identifies that Albaromoz's demonstration cannot harm living students because no killing intent enters it, and Albaromoz accepts the limitation as useful criticism. His teaching also emphasizes that poor Soulflame integration can scorch the Soulspace or damage the Alchemical Flame. Outside alchemy, he demonstrates a lie-detection skill and strong analytical judgment, though Jake's concealment and divine backing remain beyond his ability to identify directly.
Relationships
- Jake Thayne: The disguised student whose Bloodline Albaromoz detects, making the dragon an unwillingly prominent expert on the Chosen.
- Helen: Younger Emberflight representative whom he mentors and initially proposes as a careful point of contact with Jake.
- Fireplume: His Grand Elder, benefactor, Patron, and the source of his Soulflame.
- Draskil: A Malefic Dragonkin whom Albaromoz questions and views as another diplomatic connection to the Order.
Items
No separately cataloged notable item is finalized for Albaromoz; his Soulflame is permanently integrated into his Path rather than treated as carried equipment.
