Alabaster Crimsoneye Snake
The Alabaster Crimsoneye Snake, later named Scarlett, is an Earth-born venomous monster whose meeting with Jake Thayne redirects her rapid growth toward the Malefic Viper's Order.
Biography
The Grand Mangrove and the wider multiverse
Scarlett first rises from the Grand Mangrove River as a mid-tier C-grade, kills the frog threatening Jake's party, and questions how a human can walk her Forefather's Path. Jake's Blessing transforms suspicion into intense loyalty, after which she escorts him, Carmen, and Sylphie through the river and resolves to grow beyond its restrictions. When she later protects Miranda Wells, her ignorance of human norms makes her dangerously brutal; Miranda teaches her restraint, helps give her the name Scarlett, and guides her toward the Order. There Scarlett refines multiple venoms, earns an upgraded Blessing directly from the Viper, and ultimately reaches B-grade as a Jadescale Crimsoneye Snake, using near-unnoticed venom to eliminate a B-grade enemy while remaining an ally of Earth. (Chapters 457–459, 533–540, 565, 629, 1158, and 1169)
Appearance and personality
In snake form, Scarlett begins as a slender, approximately thirty-meter-long white snake with gemlike red eyes and a head only around the size of Jake's torso. Her humanoid form resembles a young woman with snow-white skin, scattered scales, long white hair, red reptilian eyes, and a snakeskin-like dress; after B-grade she retains sickly pale skin and entirely red eyes. She is initially formal but socially adolescent, eager for praise, fiercely loyal, and capable of killing without hesitation. Training and friendship make her more sociable, not less dangerous. (Chapters 457–458, 533–540, and 1158)
Path, class, and abilities
Scarlett is a monster whose Path centers on innate venom, the Crimsoneye lineage, and the Malefic Viper's Blessing. A natural treasure accelerates her early C-grade growth but temporarily binds her to the Grand Mangrove region while it is digested. She develops a humanoid form unusually quickly, joins the Order, and later evolves from Alabaster to Jadescale Crimsoneye Snake in B-grade. (Chapters 458, 533–540, and 1158)
- Venom cultivation: Her original venom is potent enough that Jake doubts his Palate can protect him even at equal grade. At the Order she cultivates necrotic and hemotoxin venoms, then develops paralysis toxins and venoms that disrupt energy flow and mana control. Delivering venom remains easiest through a bite or unseen puncture, and mutual venom exchange grants resistance, meaning disclosure to another snake carries both tactical and cultural consequences. (Chapters 457, 629, and 1149)
- Speed, stealth, and killing force: Scarlett kills the frog within seconds, later decapitates a human too quickly for Miranda to follow, and as a B-grade poisons a Warchief through unnoticed ankle punctures. She can hide well enough to appear from a shimmer and has physical force sufficient to launch Draskil across kilometers, but the corpus does not name the stealth or striking skills responsible. (Chapters 457, 534, and 1158)
- Polymorph and monster command: Her C-grade Polymorph creates a functional humanoid body after intensive study, while other C-grade snakes obey her leadership in the Mangrove. Early use is technically advanced but morally crude; Miranda has to teach her that coercion, dissection, and killing are unacceptable means of learning human society. (Chapters 533–540)
Her Greater Blessing is upgraded by the Malefic Viper after her prior blessing's Record capacity is exhausted. The latest evidence shows her alive in B-grade with mature venom specialization, although her full new racial skill set is not disclosed. (Chapters 629, 1158, and 1169)
Relationships
- Jake Thayne: Jake proves his connection to the Viper by blessing Scarlett, gives her guidance about freedom and self-improvement, and helps name her. She responds with intense loyalty and trust, later joining his wider factional world while seeking exchanges that advance both of their venom research.
- Miranda Wells: Miranda turns Scarlett from a powerful but socially dangerous young ruler into someone able to operate among people. Scarlett treats her as an elder and later answers her request to intervene against a hidden B-grade enemy.
- Draskil: Draskil finds Scarlett attractive and repeatedly pushes a flirtatious approach. She rejects him physically and decisively, though they can still operate on the same battlefield.
