Athenian Citizen's Obsidian Bracelet
The Athenian Citizen's Obsidian Bracelet is a magic-seal artifact won by Kim Hajin and later used as one layer of the defense that protects him and Rachel from a destructive blast.
History
Won and engraved
Hajin recognizes the black bracelet on Bert's wrist as an unidentified artifact and wins it in a wager. Its appraisal identifies it as a magic artifact used by an ancient Athenian noble. Hajin takes it to Seoul's Magic Tower, leaves it for engraving, and later retrieves it with a magic-power-reinforcement seal. (Chapters 72, 77, and 95)
Barrier at the tower
Hajin wears the bracelet and uses its reinforcement seal against attackers. During the tower explosion, he releases its seal while holding Rachel, layering its protection with the Egyptian Archer's Sand Barrier. The combined barrier survives long enough to shield them from debris, but the bracelet is left burnt, tattered, and close to breaking. No later chapter establishes whether it is repaired or finally destroyed. (Chapters 96, 137, and 139–140)
Abilities and properties
- The bracelet accepts magic seals without the low-power restriction described for ordinary sealed artifacts. (Chapter 77)
- Its known engraved effect is magic-power reinforcement, comparable in function to qi reinforcement and initially described as a one-use seal. (Chapter 95)
- It can sustain a defensive barrier, but the tower blast nearly destroys it. (Chapters 139–140)
