Yoo Sihyuk

Yoo Sihyuk is the Wolf of Valhalla, a Master-rank Hero who teaches from Baekdu Mountain and chooses disciples solely for talent. His severe training shapes both Chae Nayun and Yun Seung-Ah, while his own swordsmanship remains important in the wars against Orden and Baal.

Biography

Master of Baekdu Mountain

Sihyuk first appears as the austere Master-rank Hero presenting Kim Suho with a commendation. His larger influence comes through teaching: he accepts disciples without regard for family background, runs an extraordinarily selective and expensive camp, and puts Chae Nayun through punishing training after her brother's death. The regimen sharpens her combat ability and earns her his recommendation and rare satisfaction, although its severity also reflects his uncompromising view of talent. (Chapters 20–151)

The wars for humanity

Sihyuk joins the international campaign against Orden and rises into the highest tier of Master-rank Heroes. Fighting beside Yoo Jinwoong, he defeats multiple Master-rank monsters and sends sword force toward Orden in the shape of wolves. He later appears with nine white wolves during Baal's conflict and survives to serve as a witness when corruption within the Hero Association is exposed. (Chapters 255–374)

Appearance and personality

Yoo Sihyuk has wolf-like eyes and a reserved manner. He avoids needless commentary, judges people by talent rather than lineage, and imposes harsh standards on those he teaches. Personal loyalty is still visible in his friendship with Yoo Jinwoong and his reluctant concessions to Yun Seung-Ah's pleas. (Chapters 20–21, 54–56, 176, and 374)

Gifts and abilities

Sihyuk is an elite swordsman whose attacks can rush toward an enemy like wolves. He can also appear with nine white wolves, though the corpus does not establish whether they are summons, manifestations of sword energy, or another technique. No named innate Gift is given. (Chapters 296–300 and 345)

Relationships

  • Chae Nayun: A former child disciple who returns to his school for transformative training.
  • Yun Seung-Ah: Another former disciple who can still persuade him through personal appeals.
  • Yoo Jinwoong: His close friend and combat partner during the Orden war.

Items

  • Chae Nayun's enchanted sword: Sihyuk gives his young disciple a sword that can extend to roughly four meters when charged with magic power. It is no longer his possession. (Chapter 58)
