Biography

An Elder Who Holds the Line

When the Li Family attacks Golden Tang Gate, Biao stands beside Situ Mo as one of the few cultivators left to defend it. He swings a golden hammer at Ding Weizeng and leads a group of Foundation Establishment cultivators against him, using a golden command token to weave a net of light around their target. Their coordinated restraint briefly turns the fight in Golden Tang’s favor, but Ding’s Palace Sun Tiger foundation breaks the formation and leaves Biao shaken. (Chapters 1089–1090)

Left with the Gate’s Escape

During the renewed battle with the Li Family, Biao fights Li Minggong while Situ Mo entrusts him with the Mountain-Dimming Peak-Moving Cord and a Purple Mansion Realm talisman, then escapes. Biao understands that Situ Mo has left him as a pawn, but accepts the risk because his own remaining lifespan is short and the gate needs time to withdraw. Daoist Master Tianhuo takes the cord and talisman; Li Minggong then lets Biao and the surviving Golden Tang cultivators retreat. (Chapters 1164, 1166, 1169 and 1175)

A Gate Master Turned into a Ghost Corpse

After Situ Mo’s departure, Biao is identified as Golden Tang Gate’s gate master. When the gate is defeated, the attacking devil cultivators beat him to death, and Daoist Bai refines his body into a Ghost Corpse. It emits Geng Metal and chilling Yin qi, but is far weaker than Biao was alive and can be pinned by True Fire. (Chapters 1328, 1333–1335)

Appearance and personality

Biao is an aged, white-haired cultivator in a gilt Daoist robe, with a formidable presence. He acts quickly in battle and accepts personal danger as a service to Golden Tang Gate, even after realizing that Situ Mo is using him to cover his escape. (Chapters 1089, 1175 and 1333)

Abilities and cultivation

Biao was a late Foundation Establishment cultivator. His golden command token casts a radiant net that restrains opponents; combined with the other gate cultivators’ attacks, it helps form a Cage and Imprisonment formation. The technique fails against Ding Weizeng’s Palace Sun Tiger foundation, which counters the restraint directly. Biao also uses a golden hammer and, later, briefly wields the Mountain-Dimming Peak-Moving Cord and a Purple Mansion Realm talisman entrusted to him by Situ Mo. (Chapters 1090, 1169 and 1175)

Relationships

  • Situ Mo: Golden Tang Gate’s master, whom Biao serves and helps escape, even as Situ Mo leaves him to draw the Li Family’s attention. (Chapters 1089, 1169 and 1175)
  • Ding Weizeng: The Li Family cultivator Biao’s group tries to restrain during the battle for Golden Tang Gate. (Chapters 1089–1090)
  • Li Minggong: His opponent in the later fighting; she allows him to retreat after Tianhuo takes the gate’s artifacts. (Chapters 1097, 1175 and 1176)
  • Tianhuo: The Daoist Master who removes the cord and talisman Situ Mo left with Biao. (Chapters 1175 and 1333)

Items

Biao uses a golden command token and hammer in battle. Situ Mo later leaves him the Mountain-Dimming Peak-Moving Cord and a Purple Mansion Realm talisman as decoys; Daoist Master Tianhuo takes both. After his death, Biao himself is refined into a Ghost Corpse and carried as part of Daoist Bai’s arsenal. (Chapters 1090, 1169, 1175 and 1333–1335)
