Situ Mo
Situ Mo is the master of the Golden Tang Gate and head of the Situ Family, whose long feud with the Li Family shapes his later choices. A shrewd survivor of his own gate’s succession violence, he tries to turn a forced campaign against Li Chenghui into a path to safety, but Li Zhouwei kills him before he can escape. Biography
A gate heir shaped by rivalry and internal violence
As a direct descendant of the Golden Tang Gate, Situ Mo openly treats smaller families with contempt. He threatens Kong Yu for invoking an old marriage alliance, declaring that the Kong branch within the Situ Family has already been eliminated; later, newly entered into Foundation Establishment, he insults and attacks the Li Family while wielding the gate’s sharp golden weapons. His hostility grows out of a long-running feud, but his path to power is also dangerous within his own lineage: he rose from a concubine-born son to gate master by killing his elder brother. Years of surviving the gate’s succession struggles make him calculating as well as cruel, and his clashes with the Li Family repeatedly test whether he can judge when to press an advantage and when to withdraw. (Chapters 439, 511–513, 1165, 1167)
A survival plan that ends at the river
By the later conflict, Situ Mo is an experienced Foundation Establishment master caught between the Golden Tang Gate’s interests and Purple Mansion cultivators who use him to force Li Zhouwei into the open. He pursues Li Chenghui with the Mountain-Dimming Peak-Moving Cord and a Purple Mansion talisman, attacking even after Li Chenghui’s flight becomes costly. Situ Mo kills him, then makes a deliberate escape plan: he leaves the cord and talisman with Situ Biao, takes Li Chenghui’s storage pouch as bait for Li Ximing’s pursuit, and heads east while hoping that his role in the larger plot will deter the powers behind it from abandoning him. Li Zhouwei finds and kills him before that strategy can secure his survival. (Chapters 1164–1169, 1170)
Appearance and personality
Situ Mo is described as handsome and conspicuously dressed in golden hooks, ornaments, and diamond-patterned robes that mark his gate affiliation. He is arrogant toward rivals, venomous in speech, and experienced enough to hide a spell or weapon behind an apparent feint. The late campaign reveals that beneath the aggression he is acutely afraid of becoming expendable to the stronger cultivators manipulating events. (Chapters 439, 511–512, 1165–1169)
Abilities and cultivation
Situ Mo advances from the peak of Qi Cultivation to Foundation Establishment and eventually reaches its peak, nearing the Purple Mansion threshold. The Golden Tang Gate’s offensive methods shape his combat style: he uses a golden ring, shields, a saber, a small lightning-fast golden dagger, and concealed golden needles. He can rapidly form seals, attack from several angles, and use a golden eye technique to detect or track an opponent; linked artifacts let him sense when a strike has located its target. His gold techniques and experience make him dangerous even when his artifacts are suppressed, but the Mountain-Dimming Peak-Moving Cord and Purple Mansion talisman used in the final pursuit were temporary assets, not protection he could retain without consequence. Li Zhouwei’s stronger attack overwhelms his golden robe and talisman barrier and kills him. (Chapters 439, 511–513, 1165–1170)

Items
Situ Mo’s golden ring, needles, blades, and diamond-patterned robe belong to his fighting gear. He temporarily wields the Mountain-Dimming Peak-Moving Cord and a Purple Mansion talisman in the final pursuit, then hands both to Situ Biao. He keeps Li Chenghui’s black storage pouch as bait and is never shown opening it; after his death, two pouches, a dimmed golden robe, and scattered golden needles remain. (Chapters 439, 1165–1169, 1170)
