Kan Ziyu

Kan Ziyu, known by her Dao title Wenqing, advances from a mid-stage Foundation Establishment cultivator into a Purple Mansion Realm Daoist Master. She helps prepare a formation for entry into a grotto heaven and later joins Tinglan in the affairs of Purple Smoke Gate. (Chapters 589, 591–592, 1419, 1436, 1688)

Biography

Preparing a path into the grotto heaven

Ziyu works with Zhong Qian to arrange the formation that allows their group to enter a grotto heaven. She returns injured and, when two Daoist Masters clash nearby, flees with Lin Chensheng rather than remain caught between them. (Chapters 589, 591–592, 614–615)

A new Daoist Master of Purple Smoke Gate

Years later, Ziyu completes a divine ability and reaches the Purple Mansion Realm. As Daoist Master Wenqing, she advises Tinglan during a period of upheaval; she is later reported to be serving at Purple Attainment Pavilion in the imperial capital. (Chapters 1419, 1421, 1436, 1688, 1724)

Appearance and personality

Ziyu wears purple robes wreathed in violet mist and carries a long purple jade sword. She is courteous in formal gatherings and speaks with measured concern when advising Tinglan. (Chapters 589, 1419, 1688)

Abilities and cultivation

Ziyu is at the middle stage of Foundation Establishment when first introduced. She later breaks through to the Purple Mansion Realm and completes a divine ability; its name and precise effects are unknown. (Chapters 589, 1419, 1421, 1436)

• Tinglan: Ziyu works with Tinglan at Purple Smoke Gate and later advises her during the northern crisis. (Chapters 1419, 1688)
