Hengxing
Hengxing is a Daoist Master of Hengzhu whose gentle manner masks a sharp political judgment. She avoids needless commitments between rival gates, but will act when she believes friends or the wider balance are in danger. (Chapters 794, 925, 1413, 1429)
Biography
Courtesies and counsel
Hengxing visits the newly advanced Tu Longjian to congratulate him and invite him to Hengzhu, while carefully avoiding a commitment against either Changxiao or Junjian. Later, she advises on the risks and motives behind the Merging Fire dispute, treating chivalry as a force that should remain free rather than be controlled by stronger cultivators. Her counsel reflects a patient political outlook and sympathy for cultivators who resist being used as pieces. (Chapters 793–794, 925)
A soft heart in a hard conflict
Although Hengzhu had said it would not intervene in the northern conflict, Hengxing invites Kuangyu to join her and waits with Hengli in the great void. She uses her spirit umbrella to shield Kuiqi when the battle turns, then grieves over Lin Jianqi’s death and argues that the northern powers should have sacrificed more to save lives. After the exchange, she leaves carrying a black feather. (Chapters 1412–1413, 1429, 1448–1449)
Appearance and personality
Hengxing speaks gently and often appears composed, but she can be sharp when she believes others are being hypocritical. Her grief over Lin Jianqi breaks through that restraint. She carries a spirit umbrella and a red-glazed treasure box. (Chapters 794, 925, 1429, 1448–1449)
