Teny
Teny Amenos is an elite Crimson Dynasty officer whose gift for strategy eventually brings him close to the top of the dynasty's military system. He begins as a colonel and Calamity Grade Mechanic, becomes an early professional friend of Han Xiao, and rises into high command. Han's memories identify him as a future marshal who died heroically in the original history, but the current timeline directly shows Teny alive after the World Tree War.
Biography
The Evolution Cube and Crimson Dynasty
Teny arrives in the Shattered Star Ring as a colonel leading the dynasty military's young officers chosen for Evolution Cube enhancement. His suspicion of Black Star initially makes him cautious, but shared travel and repeated technical discussions establish mutual respect; Teny approaches Han for instruction as a fellow Mechanic, while Han discreetly invests in an officer he remembers becoming a great marshal. Teny returns to the dynasty with an orange-grade guard unit gifted by Han and is regarded as a core future figure even before joining the upper echelon. Predictions of his later achievements and battlefield death are Han's memories of the prior timeline, not events already fixed in Teny's present life. (Chapters 790, 792, 794–798, and 802)
The Flickering World
Years later, Teny commands a dynasty fleet operating in the Dust Light Star Cluster and receives Black Star Army personnel as part of his force. He is openly friendly toward the army because of his history with Han, but he also balances that preference against the other organizations under his command, eventually assigning the army a dangerous close-combat role to preserve confidence in his impartiality. His strategy repeatedly defeats attackers at range and guides the fleet through the Kunde operation, after which he is present when the dynasty gathers the captives and witnesses the consequences of the campaign. (Chapters 969, 971–973, and 980–981)
The World Tree War
By the World Tree War, Teny has become an important upper echelon of the dynasty military. He commands the defense fleet at the secret prison where Black Star kills EsGod, activates the spatial anchor, and then accepts the returned Gaud while objecting when he discovers that the prisoner's Esper Ability has been removed. He later serves among the high-ranking strategists directing the galactic defense and the counterattack on the World Tree's main body. His last direct appearance comes after that war, when he thanks Black Star and takes charge of the remaining work against the Star Alliance. This continued service explicitly supersedes the heroic death Han remembers from the unaltered history. (Chapters 1393–1395, 1429, 1434–1435, and 1455)
Appearance and personality
At his introduction, Teny is a straight-backed, energetic middle-aged man in a black Crimson Dynasty officer uniform decorated with red and gold patterns. Semi-circular analysis devices sit on both ears. He is calm, vigilant, disciplined, and naturally suspicious, but recognizes genuine help and treats subordinates well. Even friendship does not override his duty to model how the dynasty might defeat a powerful individual. (Chapters 792, 794–798, and 1393)
Abilities and class
Teny is introduced as a Calamity Grade pure Mechanic of the Armed Branch. He ranks first across all sixty-two subjects at the Journey High-Level Military School and has vast operational experience, but his defining ability is command rather than personal dueling. He uses range, formation, local numerical superiority, and targeted analysis to make fleets defeat stronger-looking forces efficiently. By the war he has added extensive anti–Beyond Grade A and anti–World Tree tactics to the dynasty's strategic inventory. (Chapters 792, 797, 971–973, 1393–1394, and 1429–1435)
Relationships
- Han Xiao: Teny begins as a cautious recipient of Han's instruction and becomes his friend. Their positions later pull them apart, and Teny objects to Black Star's treatment of Gaud, but they continue to cooperate through the war and postwar settlement. (Chapters 794–798, 969, 981, 1393–1395, and 1455)
- Gaud: Teny receives Gaud back on the dynasty's behalf and reacts with anger when he discovers that the captive has been stripped of his Esper Ability. He remains wary after hearing Black Star's claim about Gaud's identity. (Chapter 1395)
- EsGod: Teny commands the prison defense force when Black Star kills EsGod's body and records the confrontation for the dynasty. (Chapters 1393–1395)
- Hila: Hila accompanies Han during the prison exchange and explains to Teny that Gaud has been crippled. Their interaction is official rather than personal. (Chapters 1393–1395)
- Corbus: Corbus is Teny's loyal deputy. Teny brings him into technical consultations and looks after his opportunities, while Corbus supports his battlefield command. (Chapters 792 and 795–797)
Items
Teny wears two multifunctional ear-mounted analysis devices used for communication, detection, tactical imaging, and related officer work. Han also gives him a set of Beyond Grade A orange-grade hovering guards for protection. Neither has a separate entry in the supplied inventory. (Chapters 792 and 798)
