Nakapu

Nakapu is the commander of an elite DarkStar fleet that attacks Planet Aquamarine during the Mutation Disaster. His carefully divided ambush fails after outdated intelligence causes him to underestimate Black Star, and Godora captures him with his flagship.

Biography

Mutation Disaster and the Secret War

Following orders to strike Planet Aquamarine, Nakapu brings more than two hundred warships and divides them between a main fleet and a hidden assault force. He uses the main formation to lure Barette's defenders away while the assault force attacks the planet, accounting for both Nagakin and Han Xiao in his calculations. Han's forces repel the planetary assault, exposing a fatal intelligence error. Nakapu decisively orders retreat, but Han disables the Blood Gal flagship's artificial intelligence and Nagakin boards it. The remaining DarkStar officers abandon the command ship, and Nakapu is captured with its command team. DarkStar receives confirmation of the capture, but the corpus does not state what happens to him afterward. (Chapters 535–542)

Appearance and personality

The corpus gives no physical description. Nakapu is initially so cold and emotionless that he appears to lack feelings, maintaining a passive tone even during battle. When his plan collapses, he quickly accepts the strategic reality and orders retreat rather than compound the loss, though fear finally surfaces when his flagship is disabled and boarded. (Chapters 535–536 and 541–542)

Abilities and class

Nakapu's demonstrated expertise is fleet command: reconnaissance assessment, long-range fire, force division, feints, and disciplined withdrawal. He explicitly has no high-level combatant aboard when planning the attack, and the corpus provides no personal class, grade, weapon, or supernatural ability. (Chapters 535–539)

Relationships

  • Han Xiao: Nakapu treats Black Star as a manageable complication based on inaccurate intelligence. Han defeats the assault force and disables Nakapu's flagship, becoming the person Nakapu recognizes as decisive to his capture. (Chapters 536 and 539–542)
  • Nagakin: Nakapu considers the Godoran Calamity Grade troublesome but plans around his lack of ranged fleet control. Nagakin boards the disabled flagship and delivers Nakapu into Godoran custody. (Chapters 536 and 538–542)
  • Barette: Nakapu manipulates Barette's pursuit with a divided-fleet feint, but Barette's fleet remains part of the force that surrounds and captures the flagship. (Chapters 536–542)

Items

Nakapu commands the Blood Gal, a DarkStar command ship serving as his flagship. Han disables it electronically, after which Godora captures the vessel and its command team. The fleet is organizational matériel rather than documented personal property. (Chapters 535 and 541–542)
