Huang Yu

Huang Yu is a highly capable Dark Net director whom Bennett assigns to assist Han Xiao with the construction of Sanctuary Three. Although initially resentful of the subordinate role, he proves adept at handling the settlement's daily administration. Han later chooses him as successor, and Huang Yu develops the sanctuary into a fortified home for millions of refugees.

Biography

Escape from Germinal and the Aquamarine War

Huang Yu accepts Bennett's order to assist Black Phantom but privately intends to treat the assignment as a holiday. The hazards of the journey and the speed of Han's construction overturn that attitude, and Huang Yu begins contributing practical advice, organizing damaged work sites, and managing the many routine problems created by the sanctuary's rapid growth. By the time Han returns with Emerald Grass, Huang Yu has handled the settlement's affairs neatly enough to be recognized as an effective assistant and secretary. He subsequently screens visitors, coordinates staff, and supports the sanctuary's commercial and security arrangements. (Chapters 217–234 and 269–290)

The Black Star Mercenary Group

Before leaving Planet Aquamarine, Han recommends Huang Yu as the most suitable person to take over Sanctuary Three, and Bennett agrees. More than a year later, Huang Yu is its manager: he has completed the planned fortress, accommodated over three million refugees, and built his own Dark Net administrative team. The sudden convergence of hundreds of thousands of Inhumans alarms him, and he prepares to disperse them among nearby cities despite Han's earlier instruction to avoid hostile restrictions. The plan never takes effect because the players all log off and disappear before implementation, leaving Huang Yu confused rather than establishing any lasting break with Han's policy. (Chapters 310 and 440–441)

Mutation Disaster and the Secret War

Huang Yu remains the head of Sanctuary Three when signs of the Mutation Disaster emerge. He receives Bennett, helps assemble Hila, Aurora, and Emerald Grass for an urgent consultation, and learns that Aurora can detect the infection in him even though he has no symptoms. When Han returns from the galaxy, Huang Yu resumes his deferential former-assistant manner despite being the sanctuary's supervisor and continues accommodating Han's operations, including the use of the arena for army recruitment. Chapter 516 is his last direct appearance and gives no later death, dismissal, or replacement. (Chapters 507–516)

Appearance and personality

The corpus does not provide a sustained physical description of Huang Yu. He begins proud, reluctant, and inclined to avoid unnecessary danger, but direct experience of Han's competence turns him into a diligent administrator. He is orderly, cautious about threats, and willing to adapt policy when responsible for millions of residents, though Han's unexpected power and demands can still make him visibly nervous. (Chapters 217–230, 440–441, and 511–512)

Abilities and class

No Super class or combat power is established for Huang Yu. His strengths are administrative judgment, logistics, scheduling, personnel coordination, and practical problem-solving. He takes control of damaged construction areas, suggests an effective way to draw Shadow Stalker Vipers into prepared traps, and oversees Sanctuary Three's expansion and refugee population. (Chapters 224, 230, and 440)

Relationships

  • Han Xiao: Huang Yu reluctantly becomes Han's assistant, grows into the role, and is later selected by Han to manage Sanctuary Three in his absence. (Chapters 217–230, 310, and 511–516)
  • Bennett: Bennett appoints Huang Yu to the sanctuary project and later accepts Han's recommendation that he become its manager. Huang Yu continues to address Bennett respectfully as his superior. (Chapters 217, 310, and 507)
  • Aurora: Aurora identifies Huang Yu as carrying the Mutation Disaster's abnormal life signature even though neither he nor Bennett can otherwise detect an infection. (Chapter 507)
  • Emerald Grass: Huang Yu arranges Emerald Grass's residence and work at Sanctuary Three and later joins her in Bennett's emergency consultation. (Chapters 230 and 507)
