Ghostly Fox is a Rose Militant Pugilist instructor who investigates Dorothy's death and later leads a patrol intended to lure the responsible assassin into an ambush.

Biography

Escape from Germinal and the Aquamarine War

Ghostly Fox identifies sniper fire as the true cause of Dorothy's unit's destruction. She then takes command of repeated patrols while three professional assassins wait to trap Han Xiao. When he appears, her unit pursues him into a prepared EMP and minefield; she recognizes the resemblance to Dorothy's death too late. Ghostly Fox survives the explosion by tunneling into the sand, attacks Antonio with a dagger after Han exposes her hiding place, and is shot dead. The later reference to her team being killed confirms that fate rather than describing another appearance. (Chapters 91 and 94–98)

Appearance and personality

Ghostly Fox is a petite woman. She is observant enough to reassess Dorothy's death and identify an EMP, but grows frustrated while acting as bait and becomes eager when Han finally appears. After the ambush fails, she fights because escape is no longer viable. (Chapters 94–97)

Abilities and class

Ghostly Fox is a level-29 Pugilist, though only eight levels are in her main job and many of her secondary jobs are described as ineffective. Her training includes a simple sand-tunneling technique, fast dagger attacks, and close combat, but she is physically overmatched by Antonio and Han. (Chapters 91 and 97)

Relationships

  • Dorothy: They are fellow Rose Militant instructors. Dorothy's death leads Ghostly Fox to investigate the sniper and foreshadows her own defeat in another engineered ambush. (Chapters 91 and 94–96)
  • Han Xiao: Ghostly Fox leads the bait patrol targeting him, but Han disables the vehicles, exposes her hiding place, and kills her. (Chapters 95–97)
  • Antonio: Ghostly Fox attacks Antonio as the nearest target after emerging from the sand; he throws and badly injures her before Han finishes the fight. (Chapter 97)

Items

Ghostly Fox carries a dagger and travels in the modified battle vehicle Thorns, which belongs to Rose Militant rather than to her personally. Neither has a separate supplied inventory entry. (Chapters 95–97)
