Evans

Evans is a former ordinary prisoner who awakens an ability equivalent to EsGod's Esper Ability Copy and is secretly trained by Han Xiao. His disciplined, selective development distinguishes him from EsGod, eventually making him a Beyond Grade A with Energy Control and a candidate to lead the Supers Holy Land's next generation.

Biography

The Flickering World

Evans leaves prison after serving time for killing a Grade E Super who threatened his friend. Refusing money and self-pity, he takes work cleaning and repairing ships in an exploration fleet. His encounter with a small offspring of the Primal Chaos Mysterious Energy helps Han Xiao identify the entity's true location, but Evans does not become its host in this timeline. Instead, he awakens Esper Ability Copy, reluctantly accepts Han Xiao's guidance, and enters concealed training designed to prevent the power from corrupting him. (Chapters 992, 1016, 1023–1027, 1032, and 1038–1040)

Intelligent Plague and the Association

Han Xiao uses Evans's unusual cellular compatibility to support research into mechanical hosts for Primal Esper Ability Entities, while still treating Evans himself as a secret asset. Early in training, Evans remains only Grade E and deliberately refrains from copying abilities without instruction. Han Xiao considers him a possible host based on another timeline but does not enact that history here; instead, he plans a slow, selective cultivation program whose progress will require decades. (Chapters 1039, 1045, 1062, 1084–1087, 1141, 1144, and 1210)

The World Tree War

Evans receives private training as one of the prospects with exceptional potential. After decades of cultivation and careful selection of complementary Esper Abilities, he takes Gaud's Energy Control and is publicly revealed as Han Xiao's long-hidden successor to EsGod's power rather than as EsGod himself. Evans advances to Beyond Grade A, participates in the war, and afterward continues training because he wants to meet Han Xiao's expectations as a future pillar of the Supers Holy Land. (Chapters 1365, 1370, 1390–1397, 1446, and 1449)

Appearance and personality

At his release, Evans wears a simple top and carries light luggage; the corpus gives no more distinctive stable physical description. He is practical, modest, loyal, and reluctant to exploit others. He refuses unnecessary money, does not resent having lived without powers, and initially dislikes an ability that takes talents away. Even after becoming powerful, he remains serious and driven rather than predatory. (Chapters 992, 1040, and 1449)

Abilities and class

Evans's core power, Esper Ability Copy, can seize, analyze, and reproduce other Esper Abilities by constructing corresponding genetic chains. Copying stronger or resisting targets is difficult, and holding too many abilities can destabilize the user's genes, so Han Xiao directs him toward a limited set of carefully complementary powers. Evans reaches Calamity Grade and later Beyond Grade A, acquires the Super High-Risk Energy Control ability, and develops a broad Esper Ability Domain. Exceptional compatibility with Primal Esper Abilities is a bodily trait, not proof that he hosts either entity in this timeline. (Chapters 1039–1040, 1087, 1272, 1370, 1395, 1446, and 1449)

Stage / Realm / AbilityChapter(s)Notes
Ordinary human / Esper Ability Copy awakening992, 1016, 1023–1040Awakens the same foundational copying ability associated with EsGod and accepts secret training. He does not host the Primal Chaos Mysterious Energy in this timeline.
Grade E controlled cultivation1039–1087Begins at Grade E and copies abilities only under instruction, favoring a small compatible set to avoid the genetic instability caused by indiscriminate accumulation.
Calamity Grade1272, 1365–1370Decades of selective development bring him from Grade E to Calamity Grade; the intervening grades are not individually dated in the supplied corpus.
Energy Control transfer1390–1397Extracts the Super High Risk ability from Gaud, gaining energy absorption, conversion, manipulation, and analysis. This is a permanent transfer that leaves Gaud depowered.
Beyond Grade A Esper1395–1397Breaks through and is publicly revealed as the disciplined successor to EsGod's path, combining Energy Control with a curated set of copied abilities.

Relationships

  • Han Xiao: Han Xiao identifies Evans's potential, recruits him, keeps his development secret, and chooses which abilities he may copy. Evans responds with loyalty and a determination to become the future protector Han Xiao expects.
  • EsGod: Evans possesses the same foundational copying ability but is explicitly not established as EsGod's reincarnation or relative. Han Xiao raises him along a more disciplined path, and EsGod later agrees to teach him combat coordination.
  • Gaud: Evans takes Gaud's Energy Control after Gaud is subdued. The transfer gives Evans a unique high-risk power but leaves Gaud without his Esper Ability.

Items

No persistent named personal item is established for Evans. His late training centers on absorbed Esper Abilities and controlled energy constructs rather than a signature piece of equipment.
